    摘要: A centrifugal pump assembly for a well is lowered into the well on a string of tubing. A packer mounts to the pump assembly below an intake of the pump and is lowered in with the pump assembly. The packer is radially expansible to seal against the casing in the well. A conduit leads from the pump assembly to the packer for diverting a portion of the well fluid being pumped through the pump assembly. This pressurized fluid causes the packer to expand and seal against casing.

    摘要: A connection between a shaft and a coupling that preferably involves involute shaped splines is designed to reduce stress from torque applied to the shaft by a drive motor. To avoid stress concentration at the mouth of the coupling on startup, the shaft splines are made to taper from the shaft end down to the spline end. As a result, the initial contact with the coupling splines occurs within the coupling and removed from it mouth. The shaft is allowed to elastically twist in response to the applied torque as the contact area increases with shaft twisting and the contact line moves toward the mouth of the coupling. Some shaft elastic twist occurs without adding stress to the shaft splines until coupling contact is made.

A submersible pump and a gas separator are housed within the upper section of the shroud. A motor is housed within the lower section of the shroud, the motor being coupled to the gas separator for rotating the gas Separator and the pump.     摘要: An electric submersible pump (ESP) torque absorbtion anchor system (TAS) and a method to assemble the same are disclosed. The TAS includes a collar having an uphole end coupled to a production string and a flange formed on an outer diameter of the collar. The TAS also includes a sleeve having a rim extending radially inward from an uphole end of the sleeve. The collar is positioned in a cavity of the sleeve so that oppositely facing shoulders of the collar and the sleeve contact and transfer axial loads between the sleeve and the collar. A spring is positioned in an annulus between the sleeve and the collar and mounts to the collar and the sleeve so that rotational loading of the sleeve relative to the collar transfers to the spring.

    摘要: A submersible well pump assembly using threaded connections, the submersible well pump assembly having a first housing, a second housing, a clamp ring, and at least one anti-rotation member. The first housing has an end having an outer surface, an end face, and a shoulder on that outer surface. The second housing has an end having an outer surface and an end face. The outer surface of the second housing has external threads formed thereon and the end face of the second housing abuts the end face of the first housing. The clamp ring is rotatably and slidably carried on the first housing and has internal threads that engage the external threads of the second housing. The clamp ring also has an internal shoulder that engages the shoulder of the first housing. To keep the connection secure, the assembly has at least one anti-rotation member having a cooperative element on each end of each housing to inhibit rotation of one housing relative to the other.
