    摘要: The present invention is a method for the color correction of digital images that have been compressed. In a preferred embodiment, aspects of the color correction are carried out on the compressed image data to improve computational efficiency. One of a number of alternative methods is employed to accomplish the color correction on lossy or losslessly compressed images. The color transformation process accomplishes color correction on compressed image data in conjunction with compression or decompression operations. A second, simplified phase of the color correction may be applied subsequently to the decompressed image data in certain embodiments. Accordingly, the technique has application to any number of color imaging systems, including digital printers and copiers where there is a necessity to color correct compressed digital images

The three primary-color stimuli forming each color of the color pair are described as binary numbers, and the binary numbers are combined to yield a single orderable number. With this format, codes describing color pairs can be readily retained in a searchable table, preferably an AVL-balanced tree.

    摘要: A method of processing images preparatory to printing in a color printer adapted to printing serial color separations, that when superposed form the final color image, in which separation color images are received for printing defined by continuous tone separation signals, which are color corrected and halftoned preparatory to printing the color image. The received continuous tone separation image signals are used to derive an estimate of marking material coverage. The marking material coverage estimate is subsequently used in association with random number generation to turn OFF otherwise ON pixels in each separation as the separation is printed for the reduction of marking material coverage.

    摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed for mapping original colors of image elements forming a color image to colors that appear solid when reproduced on a color printer. The original color and the solid color of each image element may be defined by a subtractive mixture of cyan, magenta and yellow colorants. The method first determines whether the original color of each image element is a light color surrounded by a dark background color, or a dark color surrounded by a light background color. Subsequently, the cyan and magenta colorants of each original color determined to be a light color surrounded by a dark background color are minimized; and one of the cyan or magenta colorants for each color determined to be dark and surrounded by a light background color is maximized. Consequently, image elements having colors defined by the mapping appear solid when reproduced by the color printer.

    摘要: Simulated color imaging using gray level patterns produced from two differently colored materials by employing fine patterns of dots. The dots blend with the background and yield a gray or colored appearance when seen from a distance. The imaging process utilizes ink pattern designs in conjunction with registered two-color imaging to thereby form simulated color images. Digital information representing two sets of gray-level producing patterns, set A for color A and set B for color B, is electronically stored in computer memory. The patterns in set B are complementary to those of set A. An apparent or simulated color image is produced by overlaying, combining or juxtapositioning a pattern from set A with a complementary pattern from set B, the combined image being subsequently rendered visible using two different colorants. A gray level pattern is produced for each elemental area of an original image.

The document has printed thereon machine readable markings that comprise information of a patient, information of at least one lab test to be performed, and formatting information for the return of the lab test results. The second document processing device identifies the lab test to be performed on the patient based on the machine readable markings. After the lab tests have been performed on the patient, the second document processing device prepares the lab test results by formatting them. These formatted lab test results are then output from the second document processing device to the first document processing device.
