Abstract:
The invention concerns a retractable roof consisting of at least two elements (1, 2) for a vehicle comprising a passenger compartment (7) and a rear deck (6), said roof including a front element (2) and a rear element (1) mobile between a first position wherein they cover the passenger compartment (7) and a second position wherein they are superimposed horizontally in the rear deck (6), the displacement of the rear element (1) towards the rear deck (6) being driven by at least an arm articulated (5) at one first of its ends to the chassis, and the front element (2) being linked to the rear element (1) via two levers (13, 14) articulated each at one first (15, 16) of its ends to said front element. The invention is characterized in that it comprises a link rod (10) and a support element (18), said arm (5) being articulated at its second end to said link rod (10) whereon are likewise articulated the two ends of said levers (13, 14), said link rod (10) being articulated to said support element (18) bearing a cam path (19) adapted to co-operate with a cam follower (20) integral with said arm (5).
Abstract:
A vehicle back shelf (1) comprises a central plate (6) and two side plates (7) each of which is movable relative to the central plate (6). The back shelf includes means (8) adapted to control and guide the sliding of each of the side plates (7) relative to the central plate (6) in the transverse direction (19) of the vehicle in both directions between a deployed position and a retracted position in which each side plate (7) is substantially retracted under the central plate (6).
Abstract:
The invention concerns a folding roof comprising a front element and a rear element, the two elements capable of being stored in the vehicle boot, and locks for locking together the front edge of the front element to the front element of the vehicle body and the rear edge of the front element to the front edge of the rear elemen. The locks are actuated by rotating rods connected to a motor. The rotating rods and the locks are arranged such that the rotation of the motor causes the control rods to rotate simultaneously and the locks to be engaged when the roof covers the vehicle.
Abstract:
A trunk for a convertible vehicle with a folding roof comprises a trunk lid which can open on the one hand for stowing the folded roof and on the other hand for stowing luggage. A rear shelf extends under the rear part of the roof in the closed position on the vehicle and folds to allow the folded roof to pass. The rear shelf is articulated to the front edge of the trunk lid and is mobile between a position in which it extends between the front edge of the trunk lid and a wall that closes the front of the trunk and a folded position in which it extends under the trunk lid.
Abstract:
An articulation for an articulated vehicle is disclosed which comprises first and second elements fixed respectively to each of the vehicle sections and an intermediate element, the three elements each presenting mean main planes which blend into a single horizontal plane to yield an articulation of limited thickness, the first element being articulated on the intermediate element both around a longitudinal horizontal axis and around a transverse horizontal axis, the second element being articulated on the intermediate element around a vertical axis. A preferred embodiment includes friction pads and cooperating surfaces for dampening the articulation around the vertical axis and force transducers for measuring any horizontal compressive force transmitted through the articulation.
Abstract:
A retractable roof system for motor cars, said system comprising: a plurality of nesting shutters interconnected for movement between a nested position and an extended position in which each shutter overlaps an adjacent shutter and the outer surfaces of said shutters altogether define a substantially horizontal essentially continuous, stepped, extended surface, a pair of fixed guide members adjacent, respectively, the lateral margins of said extended surface, and followers attached to the shutters for cooperation with guide members to position the shutters so that said extended surface generally matches a desired surface for said roof system. The system includes interchannel sealing strips which inhibit the passage of wind and rain into the motor car and also serve to reduce vibration by compressing and maintaining spacing between the several shutters.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a vehicle comprising a body roof having an opening capable of being closed and a folding top consisting of several rigid parts (3), (4), (5) and a modular roof assembly (1) mounted directly in one single piece on the vehicle structure, said assembly comprising the folding top, with its mobile parts (3), (4), (5), a frame (10) supporting the folding top, adapted to be positioned opposite marking elements (75) of the vehicle structure and connected thereto, the parts of the roof being mobile between an extended position, resulting from a forward displacement, and a folded position wherein said parts are substantially vertically retracted behind the seats (7), side by side, a mechanism (40, 50) for displacing the roof parts, borne by the support frame, being also provided, after the modular roof assembly has been positioned inside the vehicle, for displacing said roof parts relative to the roof opening between their extended and retracted positions.
Abstract:
The system comprises a stop fixed to the central panel and moving with the same towards the front or the rear of the vehicle. The stop is embodied such that when the central panel pivots to the rear to pass from the retracted position to the normal position with the roof in the stored position, said stop abuts a complementary formation on the roof in the stored position, in order to control the deployment of the lateral panels with relation to the central panel.
