    摘要: A connector housing (10) is formed with a mount hole (21) for a retainer (60), and the retainer (60) is inserted into the mount hole (21) to lock and retain terminal fittings (40) inserted into cavities (13). Partition walls (28) partitioning the cavities (13) adjacent in width direction in the connector housing (10) are provided with extended walls (28) projecting into the mount hole (21). The retainer (60) is provided with recesses (66) at positions corresponding to the extended walls (28). A creepage distance between the terminal fittings (40) adjacent with the partition wall (27) therebetween is made longer by the extended wall (28), whereby the short circuit of the adjacent terminal fittings (40) can be prevented.

    摘要: A moving plate (30) has a substantially rectangular bottom portion (38) and a surrounding wall (32) projecting from the outer periphery of the bottom portion (38). Shake preventing projections (37) are formed on the opposite outer side surfaces of the surrounding wall (32) including the shorter sides of the bottom portion (38) and extend from an upper edge of the surrounding wall (32) over the entire vertical length. The height of the shake preventing projections (37) exceeds a corresponding clearance dimension between the surrounding wall (32) and a receptacle (11). A lever (20) is used to realize a smooth connecting operation by preventing the moving plate (30) from being inclined while two housings (10, 40) are being connected.

    摘要: A frame (10) is provided with accommodating chambers (13) capable of accommodating auxiliary housings (20). A small housing (30) and a supplementary housing (40) also are provided. The housings (30, 40) are united by engaging a dovetail groove (33) and a dovetail projection (43) to form a united housing (50) that has an outer configuration common to the auxiliary housings (20). The auxiliary housing (20) and the united housing (50) can be selectively accommodated into the same accommodating chamber (13) of the frame (10). It is sufficient to prepare a single frame (10) regardless of whether the small housing (30) is used for a specific circuit. Thus, different arrangements can be dealt with inexpensively and efficiently.

If the connectors (10, 40) are vertically displaced or inclined, the guidable portions (27F, 27R) move along the guide rails (32), whereby a displacement between the connectors (10, 40) is taken up.

    摘要: The invention reduces the mold costs of a connector provided with an incorrect fitting preventing means. Sub-connectors 20A and 20B, which are respectively fitted into fitting cavities 11A and 11B of a frame 10, are each provided with a connector housing 21, and a cover 45A and 45B respectively. Protrusions 49A and 49B, which function as incorrect fitting preventing members, are formed on the covers 45A and 45B respectively. The connector housings 21, which house terminal fittings 30, have a complex shape. In contrast, the covers 45A and 45B, each of which merely maintains a collective rubber stopper 40 in position, are simple in shape and consequently the mold cost thereof is low. The components provided with the protrusions 49A and 49B are molded as a plurality of types and yet have lower mold costs.

A rear rubber plug 39 is press-fitted in a rear cylindrical portion 28 of a housing 20 in which a female terminal metal fixture 30 connected to an electrical wire 38 is accommodated. A cap 50 is mounted on a front cylindrical portion 21 of the housing 20 while a front rubber plug 40 is press-fitted in the front cylindrical portion 21. The front rubber plug 40 has first and second cylindrical portions 41 and 44 and a uniting portion 45 for sealingly coupling the portions 41 and 44. A rib 53 formed in the cap 50 is press-fitted in a clearance 43 in the front rubber plug 40 so that the cap 50 covers the front cylindrical portion 21.
