    摘要: A method and apparatus for distribution and reception of content are disclosed. A quality function for a content object may be sent to intermediate cache proxy servers and/or a receiver(s). The quality function provides a functional relationship between at least two quality metrics for the content object so that a perceivable quality of the content object at a receiver may be estimated based on the quality function. The quality function may be represented by a polynomial series and/or a set of mean and standard deviation values. The quality function may be included in media presentation description (MPD) for Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) streaming, or a session description protocol (SDP) message or a Real Time Control Protocol (RTCP) sender report for Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) streaming.

    摘要: A power measurement and calibration system provides power and line frequency measurements by using a bandpass filter having complex voltage and current outputs from which real and imaginary power components can be determined. Calibration of the filter may be omitted if a complex wavelet filter is used to implement the bandpass filter and a determination of line frequency can also be provided for downstream use. A processor receiving data from the output of the filter can compute real and imaginary power, power factor and the line frequency. The filter may be implemented by a processor executing program instructions, or a digital circuit implementing the filter and optionally a CORDIC rotator for computing the current-to-voltage phase relationship can provide input to the processor for power measurement and calibration of the sample rate to line frequency relationship and for other uses.

    摘要: Message formats and apparatus are described that reserve access to a communication medium in a multicast system. A first message, a multicast request-to-send message, includes a duration field having information representing the reserved time for a communication medium, multicast receiver and transmitter address fields, and bits that specifies a destination that is expected to reply to the multicast digital message. The bits that specify a destination can be extended to a plurality of fields that each contain different destination identifiers. Example destination identifiers include association identifiers or media access control addresses. Alternately, the bits that specify a destination can have a first field containing an offset and a second field indicating destinations with respect to the offset. A second message includes a duration field and multicast receiver and transmitter address fields. The second message is used to cancel a data transmission resulting from a multicast request-to-send message.
