摘要： A spring locking device for preventing unauthorized adjustment of the spring force subsequent to an adjustment conducted by a person having skill in the art. The spring locking device is composed of a seal which is positioned in a blocking relation with respect to the adjusting member and will be either totally destroyed if an effort is made to adjust the force of the spring or at least reflect that the adjustment has been tampered with. The seal can be in the form of a member which is press fit into an opening adjacent the adjusting member or it can be cast or poured in a liquid form and subsequently solidified in the opening adjacent the adjusting member. In addition, the seal can have an identification indicia placed thereon to reflect the last skilled person to make the adjustment to the spring force.

摘要： A safety ski binding mounted on member movable with respect to the ski but fixedly secured thereto. A release of the ski boot from engagement with the ski binding is initiated by forces applied to the heel holder. The heel holder is movable about both a vertical axis and a horizontal axis so that it is responsive to not only vertical and horizontal applied forces by the ski boot but also diagonally applied forces. A connecting lever-like element is movably secured to the housing for the heel holder and has one end thereof connected to a piston reciprocally movable in an open-sided cylinder on the housing. Thus, a reciprocal movement of the piston will initiate a pivotal movement of the connecting element. The other end of the connecting element is pivotally attached to a lock so that the lock is movable in response to a pivotal movement of the connecting element. The lock has a protuberance which projects over a lip on the heel holder to hold the heel holder in the boot holding position. Thus, a pivotal movement of connecting element in response to release forces applied by the ski boot to the binding will effect an unlocking of the heel holder and a release of the ski boot.

摘要： A front jaw having a device for indicating predetermined release values, which front jaw has a housing and a sleeve which is longitudinally adjustable with respect to the housing against the force of a release spring supported on the housing. The sleeve is fastened to one end of a pull rod, the other end of the pull rod carrying a release plate under which short lever arms of two toggle levers grip. The housing has an essentially rectangular recess therein and a window in this recess, with the window enabling the reading of release values indicated by a pointer. The device indicates an exact release value even when the sleeve experiences a change in position relative to the housing during a stepping in with a ski shoe. The sleeve includes an upper surface facing the scale which includes an arrangement for slidably engaging the pointer which is associated with both an engaging device and the scale.

摘要： A front jaw for a ski binding which prevents dirt from penetrating from above into a housing of the front jaw. The front jaw includes a release spring arranged within the housing. The release spring loads a pull rod extending through the spring, which pull rod acts through a release plate onto short lever arms of two toggle levers which are pivotal about vertical axes on a support part. Long lever arms of the toggle levers are designed as a sole holders for a ski boot. The support part has a through opening for the pull rod and a front support surface which rests at least partially on a rear cross wall of the housing. An insert plate is arranged between the support part and the rear cross wall of the housing and essentially rests on the rear cross wall and extends vertically, and on which insert plate the support part rests in certain areas. The insert plate includes upper side parts each having a first section of a first thickness and a second section extending upwardly from an upper extent of the first section and having a second thickness greater than the first thickness. The second section pivots about the first section in response to a pivotal movement of the support part. The second section when contacting the rear cross wall seals the housing from dirt penetration and provides a reliable bearing surface for further pivotal movements of the support part.

The rearwardly directed projection (31) on the bearing part engages a control surface (15) when an upwardly directed force to the sole holders (37) occurs.

摘要： An apparatus for facilitating adjustment of a ski binding part longitudinally of a ski includes a guide rail adapted to be secured to the ski, a guide plate movably supported on the guide rail and having the ski binding part thereon, a piston longitudinally movably supported on the guide rail and biased in one direction by a thrust spring, and a locking mechanism for releasably holding the piston in various longitudinal positions relative to the guide rail. The locking mechanism includes a U-shaped locking element which has a bight and two generally upright legs and which is pivotally supported on the guide plate for movement between a locking position and a release position. The locking element has teeth on the bight thereof which engage teeth on the guide rail in the locking position, and one of the legs of the locking element slidably engages surfaces on a projection on the piston in a manner yieldably resisting movement of the locking element away from its release position.
