    摘要: Disclosed is a V-type vertical engine which is particularly advantageous for use as an outboard marine engine. This engine typically comprises a crank shaft extending vertically; a pair of cylinder banks; intake ports which are located adjacent to the internal sides of the cylinder banks; intake tubes which are connected to the intake ports and, at least in part thereof, extend along a central line between the two cylinder banks away from a crank shaft of the engine; a carburetor unit including at least one carburetor having a pair of intake passages which communicate with the intake ports belonging to different ones of the cylinder banks and a single float chamber which is common to both the intake passages; exhaust ports which are located adjacent to the external sides of the cylinder banks; and exhaust passages which, at least in part thereof, extend along a cylinder axial line towards the crank case. The cooling water for the engine is introduced into the water jackets of the cylinder block and the cylinder heads from the bottom end of the engine and expelled from the top ends of the cylinder banks by way of a pair of tubes which are joined into a thermostat valve chamber. The thermostat chamber is further connected to a central conduit which extends vertically between the two cylinder banks and conducts the cooling water from the thermostat chamber to the surrounding water.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine includes a crank shaft having a crank web, a crank pin on one end of the crank web, and a weight on an opposite end of the crank web, a crank case supporting the crank shaft therein, a cylinder, a piston reciprocally fitted in the cylinder, a rod coupled to the piston by a piston pin and connecting the piston to the crank pin for reciprocally moving the piston in the cylinder, the crank case having an opening and extending obliquely to axes of the crank shaft and the cylinder. The cylinder has an end corresponding to a bottom dead center of the piston and having a first recess opening toward the opening, the first recess being of a size allowing the piston pin to pass therethrough when the piston is in the bottom dead center. The weight on the crank web has on one side a second recess of a shape defining with the end of the cylinder a space allowing the piston as disconnected from the rod to pass therethrough.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for cancelling remanent deflection in a piezoceramic head support means which is used in a video recorder that is operative in selected operating modes. In one of such modes, such as the reproducing mode, a tracking control signal is supplied to the piezoceramic support means, thereby causing the piezoceramic support means to deflect and to correspondingly displace the head supported thereby in a direction transversely of the trace which is scanned by that head. When the video signal recorder is changed over between selected operating modes, an oscillating signal is supplied to the piezoceramic support means for a predetermined duration, the maximum magnitude of the oscillating signal being less than E.sub.c, wherein E.sub.c is the largest magnitude of the tracking control signal to which the piezoceramic means responds. The magnitude of the oscillating signal is gradually reduced to a minimum level during this predetermined duration.

    摘要: In a VTR for recording and/or reproducing video signals in parallel tracks extending obliquely on a magnetic tape which is wrapped helically on a guide drum, rotary magnetic heads are associated with the guide drum to move in respective circular paths which coincide with the guide drum surface and which are axially spaced apart on the latter so that the heads obliquely traverse respective longitudinal zones substantially equally dividing the width of the magnetic tape. The angular spacing between the heads and the angular extent of the guide drum surface about which the tape is wrapped are selected so that, when the heads are rotated for obliquely traversing the respective tape zones in a repeating cyclic order, the latter has at least one overlapping interval in which two of the heads simultaneously scan oblique tracks in the respective zones. In the reproducing mode of the VTR, signals reproduced by the heads from tracks in the respective zones and being scanned in the repeating cyclic order are sequentially combined and, during each overlapping interval, a comparator senses phase differences between signals reproduced by the two heads which are then simultaneously traversing the respective zones and provides a corresponding compared output. A head shift signal is generated in response to such compared output and is employed, for example, by application to a bimorph leaf mounting at least one of the heads, for displacing such head in a direction along the respective tracks scanned thereby so as to eliminate the phase differences.
