摘要: A display device for realizing gray-scale display by changing an amplitude of a modulation voltage which is output from a data-side driving circuit. A driving control circuit is capable of supplying a first display data signal representing (m+n) grades, obtained by adding m grades represented by a second display data signal externally input and an adjustable range n. The data-side driving circuit is capable of outputting modulation voltages having (m+n) types of amplitudes to a plurality of first electrodes in accordance with a first display data signal. The amplitude of the modulation voltage corresponding to the light emission characteristic of a prescribed light emitting layer among a plurality of light emitting layers is adjusted to an amplitude in the adjustable range n from the amplitude corresponding to the grade represented by the second display data signal.

摘要: In a driving device of an active matrix type liquid crystal display unit including a liquid crystal display panel, a scan driver, and a data driver, a data voltage controlling apparatus is provided to achieve digital multiple gray-scale levels with little flickering. The data voltage controlling apparatus supplies the data driver with a combination of two different data voltages picked up from a plurality of digital data voltages previously set. The combination of two different data voltages are, for example, a combination of different waveforms, a combination of negative level and positive level, and a combination of two different voltages having at least a voltage difference. Further, a division of T-V characteristics and an exchange of data voltages are carried out to reduce the flickering.

摘要: A system and method for reducing switching noise generated when an audio signal envelope is abruptly changed provides for gradual change of the audio signal envelope from one level to another. This gradual change over time in the audio signal envelope can be either near-linear or logarithmic. The system has a volume control register for storing a digital value representative of the envelope magnitude, an up/down counter initialized to a predetermined value, a comparator for comparing the contents of the volume control register and the up/down counter, and a digital-to-analog converter (D/A) which produces the audio signal envelope. The up/down counter output forms the input to the D/A. If the value of the volume control register is larger than the value of the up/down counter then the counter counts up until the values are equal. If the value of the volume control register is smaller than the value of the up/down counter then the counter counts down until the values are equal. If the value of the volume control register is equal to the value of the up/down counter then the counter maintains its state. The clock signal input to the counter is varied so that the user may select between a near-linear change in the D/A output envelope or a logarithmic change.

摘要: In a driver circuit of direct drive matrix type LCD panel, a quantity of ON-STATE cells (or OFF-STATE cells) displayed on the just previous scan electrode is counted and a quantity of ON-STATE cells (or OFF-STATE cells) to be displayed on a present scan electrode is also counted. A compensation voltage is generated according to a predetermined relation based on a difference of the two above-counted quantities, and is superposed onto drive voltages of unselected scan electrodes or of each of data electrodes, in a polarity that an undesirable spike voltage induced on unselected cell voltage is cancelled, in synchronization with selection of the present scan electrode. The compensation voltage may be generated according to a digital difference of the two quantities or to a change in an analog voltage representing the counted quantity. The above-described relation of the compensation voltage versus the counted quantity difference may be proportional or may be given with a predetermined specific relation to meet the panel characteristics. The compensation voltage may be a flat voltage during the period for selecting the single scan electrode or may be of a spike waveform. Amplitude of this spike is determined by the above-described predetermined relation. An irregular panel brightness caused from spike voltages induced from data electrode voltage application is cancelled.
