摘要: Provided is a method to facilitate screen navigation in conjunction with a web browser. Specifically, a navigation history documenter and display module (NHDD) is employed in conjunction with a web browser to enhance the functionality of the browser. Using static links, categorical-hierarchical web sites, search engines or any combination of the three, a user freely navigates through multiple web sites and particular locations within web sites. The NHDD maintains a record of the navigation path. In conjunction with the specific sites and materials included in the navigation path, the NHDD maintain a record corresponding to the relations among the points along the path. In response to a user input, the NHDD displays navigation history information related to the order in which the points along a navigation path were traversed. In one embodiment, the information is displayed as sequentially order markers overlaid on a web page.

摘要: The illustrative embodiments of the present invention described herein provide a computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product for forwarding a reply email message. The process dynamically inserts email addresses associated with a plurality of recipients of an original email message and with an email address associated with the sender of the original email message into a recipient field of the reply email message. The email address associated with the sender of the original email message is identified to form an identified email address, wherein a copy of the reply email message is unsent to the identified email address. However, the identified email address remains part of the recipient field. In response to receiving a send command, the reply email message is sent to the email addresses associated with the recipient field excluding the identified email address.

摘要: A technique for associating user defined tasks with electronic files includes associating a custom control with an electronic folder. In this case, the custom control corresponds to a user defined task and the electronic folder includes multiple electronic files grouped according to a defined relationship. The user defined task is then executed on at least one of the multiple electronic files when the custom control, which does not correspond to a system control, is selected.

摘要: The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for storing a language preference and providing the stored language preference automatically without any intervention of a user. The user may have an option to set a desired language preference on the calling apparatus such as a telephone device. A call center may send a query requesting language preference information of the user to the calling apparatus when the user makes a call connection to the call center. The desired language preference saved on the calling apparatus may be sent directly from the calling apparatus to the call center. In this manner, the user may not have to repeat a language selection process for every call made to the call center.

摘要: A comprehensive method for handling telephone calls directed to a telephone number of a terminated user that has been reassigned to a new user. The present invention provides user with a notification service that intercepts telephone calls to said telephone number and notifies callers that the telephone number has been reassigned to the new user. Callers seeking the new user continue calls to user, which results in user only being alerted by continuing callers and not being bothered by callers seeking the terminated user. The user can customize the notification message to inform callers of the details regarding the telephone number reassignment and to whom the telephone number was reassigned. The user can specify a time period for the notification service to be activated. The notification service stores all continuing calls in a log, and bypasses all subsequent calls from telephone numbers listed in the log. The user can also store telephone numbers in the log to be bypassed, such as telephone numbers from the user's address book, once the notification service is activated so that these callers will never be intercepted by the notification service. The user can also delete telephone numbers from the bypass log.

摘要: Methods, systems, and media for employing private email content in an email message are disclosed. Embodiments include hardware and/or software for identifying an instance of private content in an email message, associating the instance with a recipient, and generating emails for each recipient, wherein the emails are redacted to display the email message with the instance when routed to a recipient associated with the instance and to exclude the instance when routed to a recipient that is not associated with the instance. Private content may include text in the body of an email that is identified by the user as being content for less than all of the recipients. In particular, a user may compose a message that contains text, some of which includes private content, and address the email to multiple recipients. The user may then associate one or more of the recipients with each separately identified instance of the private content so that recipients see the text that the user intends them to see.

摘要: An apparatus extracts a predetermined set of information from each of a plurality of sales receipts, including a first and second sales receipt corresponding to first and second transactions with first and second vendors respectively. The apparatus provides the extracted information to a data processing system. The first transaction may represent a sale of goods while the second transaction represents a sale of services wherein the predetermined set of information for goods and services transactions is the same. The predetermined set of information may include vendor identification information and at least one instance of product identification information. The apparatus may access a database using the vendor identification and product identification information to retrieve a description of the corresponding product. The predetermined set of information may include a receipt serial number wherein the device uses the serial number to retrieve information about the corresponding transaction from a sales receipt database.
