摘要: Provided is a method to facilitate screen navigation in conjunction with a web browser. Specifically, a navigation history documenter and display module (NHDD) is employed in conjunction with a web browser to enhance the functionality of the browser. Using static links, categorical-hierarchical web sites, search engines or any combination of the three, a user freely navigates through multiple web sites and particular locations within web sites. The NHDD maintains a record of the navigation path. In conjunction with the specific sites and materials included in the navigation path, the NHDD maintain a record corresponding to the relations among the points along the path. In response to a user input, the NHDD displays navigation history information related to the order in which the points along a navigation path were traversed. In one embodiment, the information is displayed as sequentially order markers overlaid on a web page.

摘要: A method and system for non-sequential access to fields in a window, document, form or template. When the window, document, form or template is opened for user input, the user activates the non-sequential mode of operation, such as by hitting a particular keystroke or sequence of keystrokes. Once the non-sequential mode of operation is activated, indicia appear in each of the possible input fields. The indicia indicate to the user what they must do in order to immediately move the cursor to that field, to effectuate moving the window focus to the desired field.

摘要: An all-in-one network communication cable and security cable apparatus for securing computing devices is provided. The all-in-one cable combines the security aspects of a steel or other cut-proof cable with a network communication cable and provides a locking mechanism that only permits the authorized user to disconnect the all-in-one cable from the computing device and the structure mounted network communication connection jack. In one exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a standard RJ45 Ethernet Cable is provided with a cut-proof casing and a slidable locking sheath that is capable of being slid under the depressible lever of the RJ45 connector. This locking mechanism includes a lock that may be set by the user so that the locking mechanism is not removable without the proper key or combination. The slidable locking sheath, when engaged, does not allow the lever of the RJ45 connector to be depressed.

摘要: Provided is a method of providing a feature in a web browser that enables a user to adjust a downloaded image to correctly display on the user's computer screen. The disclosed technology provides a mechanism that enables a user to adjust images in a web page. The claimed subject matter provides “rotate” buttons, displayed in conjunction with the particular image, so that the user can rotate the image into an appropriate orientation. In addition, a “sizing” button or buttons are provided. Different web pages may display differently on different computer screens, depending upon both the size of the screen and the size of the window in which the web page is displayed. The disclosed technology enables a user to adjust, in addition to the rotation, the size of an image so that the image displays properly and completely on the user's screen and in the corresponding window.

摘要: A personal computer that enters sleep mode to conserve electrical energy is responsive to a proximity detector and a proximity timer. As long as a user is near the computer, as determined by the proximity detector, the computer is controlled by an activity timer, and enters sleep mode upon being idle for a predetermined period of time. When the proximity detector determines that the user has left the computer unattended, the proximity detector starts the proximity timer. When the proximity timer expires, the computer enters sleep mode. Because the proximity timer operates only when the user has left the computer unattended, the proximity timer may be set to expire earlier than the activity timer. Consequently, the computer may enter sleep mode earlier than would otherwise be possible, and thereby consumes less energy.
