摘要: A standing wave linear accelerator has a plurality of resonant cavities located along a particle beam axis. One or more pairs of resonant cavities are electromagnetically coupled via a coupling cavity. A rotationally asymmetric element within the coupling cavity is adapted to rotate about an axis that is substantially parallel to the axis of the coupling cavity. The coupling cavity is imperfectly symmetric about its axis due to a relative excess of material disposed within the cavity in the portion opposed to the apertures. Rotation of the polarization of a TE111 mode inside the cylindrical cavity provided a simple single mechanical control of coupling value, that has negligible effect on the phase shift across the device. A slight frequency dependence on the angle of rotation is correctable by a relative excess of material located opposite the apertures between the coupling cavity and the accelerating cavities.

摘要: This invention relates to anionically polymerized block copolymers comprised of at least one block of polyethylene and at least one block of a polymerized cyclic siloxane monomer wherein said cyclic siloxane monomer contains at least one functional group containing a fluorocarbon substituent, e.g., 2,4,6-tris(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)-1,3,5-trimethylcyclotrisiloxane. The fluoro-functionality may instead be introduced into the polymer by using said siloxane monomer to end cap the polymer. These copolymers can be used in extruded release coating films prepared by blending the copolymer with a film grade polymer. They can also be used to modify surface adhesion, promote flow in polymer processing or coat a polymeric surface to impart properties such as a barrier to water vapor transmission, or solvent resistance.

摘要: A holder for carrying beverage containers and the like includes a bracket for releasably mounting the holder on a support and having a generally C-shaped clamp bracket portion and a generally U-shaped swing bracket portion depending from the clamp bracket portion, an adjustable clamping screw associated with the clamp bracket portion, a carrier for the container, and means for pivotally mounting the carrier to the swing bracket portion so that carrier may swing freely below the support. The clamp bracket portion permits the support to be inserted or removed from the clamp opening and defines a tapered support receiving area opposite the clamping screw so that the screw can releasably secure the support in the receiving area. The swing bracket portion includes a pair of spaced, downwardly extending arms between which the carrier is pivotally mounted.

摘要: A payload can be transferred between two relatively movable stations for example two ships using a winch system having an inhaul winch and an outhaul winch. The barrel of the outhaul winch is driven by an outhaul motor through a torque convertor such that the outhaul winch provides pull on the trolley 16 regardless of the sense of rotation of the outhaul winch barrel. A control system is used to control the speed of the inhaul winch barrel either to retrieve cable or to pay out cable. Thus, the speed of the trolley 16 is controlled by the speed at which the inhaul winch barrel is driven. The outhaul winch either can be at the same station as the inhaul winch or can be at the opposite station to the inhaul winch.

摘要: An improved locker seat includes a pair of spaced-apart upstanding sidewalls having a pair of lateral edges. A generally horizontal seat is disposed between the lateral edges of the sidewalls. In a first mode, an air source is connected to an airway formed within the seat to create an airflow. The airflow from the air source creates a first temperature differential to cool the seat. In a second mode, an external or internal heat source provides heat to a top surface of the seat, creating a second temperature differential to heat the seat. The first and second temperature differential are distributed across the top surface of the seat. The seat is hinged to be movable about the hinge between an open and a closed position.

摘要: A locker includes a pair of upstanding sidewalls, upper and lower horizontal panels, a plenum, and at least one compartment defined between the upstanding sidewalls. A chemical dispensing unit is disposed on or in the locker relative to the upper and lower horizontal panels, over and/or between the sidewalls. A first fan is disposed between the chemical dispensing unit and the plenum of the locker. The first fan pulls air and chemical into perforations formed in the locker to dispense the chemical throughout and in close proximity to the locker and remove dirty air. The first fan, or a second fan, draws clean air through the perforations of the locker. The dirty, chemical-integrated-air exits the locker room out an exhaust vent and is replaced by the clean air.
