摘要: A liquid crystal display device of reduced power consumption has a liquid crystal display panel and at least a backlight unit disposed in opposition to a liquid crystal display part of the liquid crystal display panel. The surface of the backlight unit that is opposed to the liquid crystal display panel is divided into a plurality of subunits capable of being individually adjusted in brightness, and the liquid crystal display part is divided into pixel blocks which are surface portions opposed to the respective subunits. The liquid crystal display device includes a first unit for calculating the highest brightness from display data inputted to individual pixels in each of the pixel blocks, and a second unit for adjusting, according to the magnitude of the highest brightness calculated by the first means, the brightness of each of the opposed subunits.

摘要: An electrically conductive member constituted by at least one member of the group consisting of carbon black, graphite and carbon fiber, a powdered or granulated material of an inorganic hollow body and inorganic reinforcing fiber are bonded to one another by an inorganic adhesive agent to thereby form an electric wave absorber. The electric wave absorber exhibits excellent electric wave absorbing power because of both the electrically conductive member and the powdered or granulated material of the inorganic hollow body which are contained in the electric wave absorber. The electric wave absorber has excellent mechanical strength because of the inorganic reinforcing fiber which is contained in the electric wave absorber. The electric wave absorber exhibits excellent nonflammable characteristic because of both the powdered or granulated material of the inorganic hollow body and the inorganic reinforcing fiber which are contained in the electric wave absorber. Preferably, the electric wave absorber is provided with a nonflammable layer which is integrally bonded to at least one portion thereof and which is constituted by at least one member of the group consisting of a nonflammable sheet made from a slurry containing sepiolite as a main component, and an inorganic coating agent layer.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device of the present invention capable of enlarging and displaying to a high picture quality even when display data having a lower resolution than a liquid crystal panel is inputted is provided with storage element groups every drain line within latches of a liquid crystal driver. A portion of the storage element groups simultaneously captures display data. In doing so, the same liquid crystal apply voltage is outputted from drain lines corresponding to these storage element groups. Storage element groups corresponding to neighboring drain lines then simultaneously capture display data so as to enlarge an image in the horizontal direction. The rate of enlargement can be regulated by changing the number of storage element groups simultaneously capturing display data. A scanning driver then simultaneously selects a plurality of rows with a select voltage being applied to the simultaneously selected rows of pixel elements in the same period so as to enlarge the image in the vertical direction. Enlarged displaying is therefore possible by the liquid crystal driver regulating an output period of the liquid crystal apply voltage even when rows are selected one at a time.

摘要: A FM-CW radar device is provided for frequency-modulating a high frequency signal with a modulation signal, transmitting the modulated high frequency signal, receiving a signal reflected by a target object and frequency-modulating the reflection signal with a signal generated by a local oscillator signal source provided by branching a portion of the transmitting signal. A modulator is disposed between a radar transmitting section and a transmitting antenna. The modulator modulates the transmitting signal with a second frequency which is far lower than the radar transmitting frequency and twice as much as the sum or the difference of a Doppler frequency generated by a relative propagation velocity and a beat frequency generated by a propagation delay time. A first frequency converter frequency modulates the received signal reflected by the target object with the local oscillator. A second frequency converter frequency modulates the received signal with the second frequency, the second frequency being far lower than the radar transmitting frequency and twice as much as the sum or the difference of a Doppler frequency generated by a relative propagation velocity and a beat frequency generated by a propagation delay time.
