摘要: A sample identification/sorting apparatus includes a sample storage portion that stores samples dispersed in a liquid, a flow cell having a flow path through which the liquid flows, and a sorting nozzle that has a flow path communicating with the flow path of the flow cell and dispenses a sorting solution including the sample, which is a target sample, to a culture plate. A difference between a flow direction of the liquid at an outlet of the sample storage portion and a flow direction of the liquid at a leading end of the sorting nozzle is less than 90 degrees.

摘要: A photodetector detects fluorescence emitted from a sample placed on a substrate of a DNA chip. There is an irradiation optical system for guiding irradiation light by a first optical waveguide, gathering the irradiation light by a first lens and irradiating the sample. A reception optical system gathers fluorescence at an input-side end surface of a second optical waveguide by a second lens and guides the fluorescence to a measuring unit. The irradiation optical system and the reception optical system are separate light guiding paths. The reception optical system is of a confocal optical system in which a focal point on the sample is identical to a focal point at the input-side end surface of the second optical waveguide of the reception optical system.

摘要: A specimen optical information recognizing device includes a specimen containing section containing a specimen to be measured, a specimen measuring section having a light source for outputting light for observing the specimen, a photodetecting section for collecting optical information from the specimen, and an optical waveguide for propagating light between the specimen containing and the specimen measuring sections. The optical information on the specimen may be recognized by measuring values under at least two measurement conditions. The specimen optical information recognizing device includes a measurement auxiliary liquid interposed between the end of the optical waveguide and the specimen. A longitudinal cross section of the specimen containing section may be of a recessed shape, and the aperture depth of the recessed portion may be greater than the aperture diameter. A through hole may be provided at least in a part near the bottom of the specimen containing section.

摘要: An optical measurement apparatus can be provided, in which the sample is optically measured without loss of the illuminating light with high sensitivity. A glass plate as the transparent member 50 is placed in the interface between the end face 43 of the optical waveguide 40 guiding the illuminating light L generated by the laser light source 20 and the wall face of the capillary 30. According to the above feature, the air layer is prevented from existing in the interface between the end face 43 of the optical fiber 40 and the wall face of the capillary 30, thus the sample S can be optically measured with high sensitivity and few variability without causing the loss of the illuminating light L.

摘要: In a portable electronic apparatus, a second keyboard to be manipulated with a right hand is joined to a first keyboard unit including a first keyboard to be manipulated with a left hand so that the second keyboard can be turned down. A display unit having a built-in liquid crystal display is joined to the first keyboard unit so that the display unit can be tuned down. When the display unit is turned down, the display unit engages with the second keyboard unit that is turned down. When all the parts of the electronic apparatus are closed, the electronic apparatus serves as a CD player of a CD jacket size. When the display unit is opened, the electronic apparatus has not only the capability of a DVD player but also the capability of a simple personal computer. When all the parts are left open, the electronic apparatus serves as a personal computer having a full keyboard.

摘要: A making person stores the objects (5) in the element stock (4), makes the pallet (6), takes out the objects (5) from the element stock (4) in accordance with the rule of the making person at first and arranges it, thereafter paints it in reference to the pallet (6) and subsequently a changing in selection of the objects (5) from the element stock (4) and a changing in arrangement or color painting are carried out automatically in reference to some parameters made on the basis of some random numbers generated at the time of arrangement or color painting of the objects (5), thereby a different pattern (P) is automatically made while the same taste being kept. Accordingly, even the making person having a less amount of skill or experience for making a picture can easily produce a pattern showing an individual character of the making person.
