A media player system includes a media player and an earphone. The media player is used for outputting audio signals to the earphone. The earphone includes an earpiece and a sensor. The sensor is used for detecting whether the earpiece is in the ear. The sensor outputs second predetermined signals to the media player when the earpiece is not in the ear, and the media player stops outputting the audio signals to the earpiece in response to the second predetermined signals.

An electronic device for selectively reproducing information. The electronic device includes a display, a power supply for supplying power, a switch, and a processor. The switch is connected to the display and the power supply. The processor is connected to the switch. When the processor identifies that the selected information is audio type, the processor turns off the switch to disconnect an electrical connection between the power supply and the display. A power saving method for reducing the energy consumption of the electronic device is also provided.

A display comprising: a display module for displaying video signals thereon, a backlight module for emitting light towards the display module, and a controller electrically coupled with the backlight module for providing a control signal to the backlight module for disabling or enabling the backlight module. The detection unit detects the brightness of the ambient light and generates a detecting signal according to the brightness of the ambient light. The PWM unit outputs a pulse voltage according to the detecting signal. The constant current circuit supplies a constant current to the illumination unit. The illumination unit emits light according to the pulse voltage. When the brightness of the ambient light is increased, the magnitude of the detecting signal increases and the duty cycle of the pulse voltage increases. The luminous intensity of the illumination apparatus increases. When the brightness of the ambient light is decreased, the magnitude of the detecting signal decreases and the duty cycle of the pulse voltage decreases. The luminous intensity of the illumination apparatus decreases.

If it is determined that the detection signal exceeds the predetermined detection signal, the comparison unit generates a first comparison signal indicating the proximity of an object to the electronic device. The warning unit sends a warning message in response to the first comparison signal.
