A display where lights may be programmed to randomly flash is described. The randomness may be changed by changing the mode of flashing. The lights may extend along strings that are powered by a power supply that may itself be plugged into a socket that had previously served as a light socket. The display may be added to existing displays to enhance existing visual effects. The display may be submerged and the lights may remain upright because of their buoyancy.
Abstract:
A water delivery device that may be used in a water display is described. The device includes an orifice or outlet through which water is shot out. The shape and configuration of the water device may be varied to dynamically adjust the configuration of the water shot out from the device. For example, the water delivery device may shoot out water in the shape of a fan, and the width of the fan may be varied.
Abstract:
A natural formulation of compounds isolated or derived from hops which inhibit the activity of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and/or 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX) is disclosed. The hops formulations may be administered to a mammal to treat or inhibit a pathological condition associated with the activity of COX-2 and/or 5-LOX in such a mammal.
Abstract:
An apparatus for use in a wellbore. The apparatus includes a body and a blade assembly. The blade assembly is movable between a collapsed position whereby the expandable apparatus has a smaller outer diameter and an expanded position whereby the expandable apparatus has a larger outer diameter. The apparatus further includes a pressure activated member for selectively allowing the blade assembly to move from the closed position to the open position. A method for using the apparatus, wherein a drill string with an expandable bit at the end thereof is lowered into the wellbore. Thereafter, the pressure activated member is activated to allow the cutting members to move from the collapsed position to the expanded position. Subsequently, the expandable bit is rotated to form a portion of the wellbore. Next, the expandable bit is deactivated and the cutting members are moved from the expanded position to the collapsed position.
Abstract:
A water device that can display predetermined patterns that form letters, numbers, pictures or other visually apparent figures. The water display has a shallow pool of water with a flat bottom surface, that has a plurality of holes spaced apart in a grid like fashion. The holes are connected to a source of air that introduces bubbles into the pool. The air exits the water in such a manner as to leave a visually distinguishable mark or impression in the pool. The bubbles are combined and patterned into an identifiable figure such as a word or a set of numbers. Each hole has a solenoid valve that allows air to flow into the pool when the solenoid is energized. The valves are connected to a computer that selects which holes are to release air and when the bubbles are to be released. The actuation of the valves can be selected and sequenced in accordance with the operating instructions of a computer program, that produce a pattern of bubbles to create the desired form on the surface of the pool.
Abstract:
A water display including a number of pixels or manifolds that may include water nozzles to emit streams of water and/or other utilities such as lighting is described. The water streams may be pixelated so as to provide a high resolution waveform or other choreography. The choreography transitions between waveforms to provide the appearance of a cascading or undulating wave. A tool to design the water display and simulate its appearance is also described.

A water delivery device that produces non-parabolic water forms is described. The water form's appearance may be created by altering the amount of water pressure and movement of the nozzle as the water exits the device.

An impingement fan water display that may be used in a water display is described. The device may include two nozzles that project streams of water towards each other in an intersecting trajectory and impinge upon each other. The angle of orientation of the nozzles in relation to each other may be varied to produce varying water stream fan widths and shapes. A plate may be located at or near the point of impingement.
