摘要: A printer includes a print head including nozzles that eject ink on a recording medium sheet, first and second rollers provided on a sheet feeding path for feeding the sheet therealong, a platen provided between the first and second rollers for guiding the sheet on the sheet feeding path, and a guide roller disposed between the nozzles and the second roller on the feeding path. A rotation axis of the guide roller is fixed with respect to the feeding path. The guide roller disposed as above restricts the movement of the sheet in a direction away from the platen and thereby prevents the sheet from floating on the platen.

摘要: A reference or standard pulse number, i.e., a standard number of pulses to be applied to a feeding motor to rotate a feeding roller and thereby feed a recording sheet, is set at Step S21. Subsequently, a feeding amount, A, needed by a recording head is calculated at Step S22, and a feeding amount, B, corresponding to an effective diameter of the feeding roller and the standard pulse number, is calculated at Step S23. Then, a differential pulse number to compensate for the difference between the feeding amounts A, B is determined at Step S24, and a unit error, R, between the feeding amount A and the sum of the feeding amount B (

摘要: Inputted sign language word labels and editing items such as speeds and positions of moving portions for specifying manual signs and/or sign gestures corresponding to the respective sign language word labels are displayed on an editing screen. These editing items are modified by the user to add non-language information such as emphasis/feeling information to the contents of communication, thereby generating modified sign language animation information data including the inputted sign language word label string having the added non-language information. For communication or interaction, the non-language information is extracted from the modified sign language animation information data and stored into a memory with the inputted sign language word label string. When a hearing impaired person communicates or interacts with another person through text, the user can emphasize the contents of communication or show the user's feeling for the contents of communication to the other person.

摘要: To provide a manufacturing method of thin film transistors (TFT) using poly-silicone and having an LDD structure. In particular, the LDD sections of the TFTs are formed in an improved method so as to achieve a high throughput and stable performance of the TFTs. To be specific, the LD region is doped at a low concentration in the ion implantation method which includes mass spectrometry because high controllability over a dose is required. On the other hand, the source and drain regions are doped at a higher concentration than the LD region in the ion showering method which does not include mass spectrometry. Using the ion showering method, poly-crystal silicon can be doped such that less doping damage is caused thereto. This makes it possible to apply a lower temperature for annealing, such as RTA, to activate doped impurities so as to prevent the substrate from being curved. Further, combination of the ion implantation method and the showering method achieves a high throughput production of TFTs having stable performance.

摘要: An optical guide device in an optical reading system incorporated in a facsimile device, copying machine, image scanner and the like includes an array of LEDs and a light guide plate. When the light guide plate is cut along the longitudinal axis to give a cross-section in which the thickness appears, the cross-section is in a tapered shape and the thickness of the light guide plate at the side confronting the light array increases toward the opposite side facing the document. The light emerging from the light guide plate is high and uniform in light intensity level, so that a CCD unit picks up the light reflected from the document with high accuracy.

摘要: An apparatus for automatically and continuously inspecting a powdery product for the presence of foreign substances as contaminants, which permits highly precise inspection of powdery products, comprises static charge eliminator 10 for eliminating electrostatic charges generated on a powdery sample supplied to the apparatus; hopper 41 for receiving and storing the powdery sample whose electrostatic charges have been eliminated and dropped onto the hopper through static charge eliminator 10; conveyor 42 for conveying the powdery sample, as a subject to be photographed, discharged from hopper 41 and spread over conveyor 42 in the form of a layer having a uniform thickness; and video camera 43 for photographing, over a predetermined visual field, the powdery sample on the subject-conveyor. Images taken by video camera 43 do not include those originated from dark spots due to unevenness of the powdery sample distribution, but includes only those originated from foreign substances even when inspecting a powdery sample which is liable to be electrically charged such as a vinyl chloride resin, since the powdery sample is not agglomerated.
