This document is related to a method for receiving signals in multi-user system, the method comprising: receiving signals form 2 or more mobile stations using ‘k’-th radio resource and ‘k+m’-th radio resource; estimating a channel matrix using the received signals; calculating a weight matrix so that the channel matrix have an orthogonality to the signals from each of the mobile stations; transmitting the weight matrix to each of the mobile stations; and receiving signals that the weight matrix is applied by each of the mobile stations. By doing so, we can increase the transmission efficiency through obtaining both orthogonality and diversity gain in the multi-user MIMO system.

Signalling overhead due to CQI transmission can be reduced.

A feedback method for performing a feedback by using a codebook in Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system includes receiving, by the mobile station, a MIMO mode type information, generating feedback information by using the codebook selected according to the MIMO mode type information, and transmitting the feedback information to the base station. The codebook includes a SU-MIMO codebook and a MU-MIMO codebook, and the MU-MIMO codebook is formed by extracting codebook elements from the SU-MIMO codebook. As a result, the method maximizes a system throughput simultaneously while effectively reducing an amount of feedback information.

A method of transmitting control information includes dividing frequency bandwidth into ranges to which the same PMI (precoding matrix index) is applied, obtaining multiple antenna information by the range to which the same PMI is applied and transmitting the multiple antenna information. According to the present invention, a user equipment that supports a plurality of transmitting antennas receives a plurality of uplink sounding transmission control information elements from a base station. Each of the plurality of uplink sounding transmission control information elements includes respective cyclic period information for periodically repeating sounding signal transmission and respective antenna designation information for designating one or more antennas through which the sounding signal is to be transmitted among a plurality of transmission antennas of the user equipment. The user equipment, then, transmits a sounding signal through selected number of transmission antennas according to the antenna designation information of the uplink sounding transmission control information element having the shortest cycle period among the plurality of uplink sounding transmission control information elements.
