    Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer program is described comprising: receiving, at a user device, a downlink reference signal from a communication node of a mobile communication system, wherein the downlink reference signal is received by one of a plurality of beams of a receiver of the user device in accordance with a configured beam alignment; determining whether to initiate beam switching to reconfigure the beam alignment at said receiver based, at least in part, on a signal power of the received downlink reference signal; and determining, in the event that beam switching is to be initiated, whether to initiate communication node assisted beam switching or non-communication node assisted beam switching.

    Abstract: In a system, apparatus, method, and non-transitory computer readable medium for implementing dynamic uplink (UL) gaps for maximum permissible exposure (MPE) detection, a user equipment (UE) device include a wireless antenna array, a memory storing computer readable instructions and a UL gap configuration, and processing circuitry configured to execute the computer readable instructions to cause the device to, determine estimated distance information between a user and the device using the wireless antenna array during at least one first scheduled UL gap of the UL gap scheduling in accordance with the UE maximum transmission power limit, the UL gap scheduling based on a default UL gap periodicity value and a default UL gap duration value, transmit a MPE-related message to the node based on the estimated distance information and a desired MPE threshold, and adjust the UL gap configuration based on the transmitted MPE-related message.

    Abstract: An apparatus including a plurality of antenna panels; circuitry configured for receiving a synchronization signal burst including a plurality of synchronization signal blocks; circuitry for configuring, for a first sample, each of the plurality of antenna panels to be switched in alternating manner to measure received signal power level of each of the plurality of synchronization signal blocks; circuitry for configuring, for a predetermined number of subsequent samples, each of the plurality of antenna panels to be switched in alternating manner to measure the received signal power level of the synchronization signal block providing a highest received signal power level for said antenna panel in the first sample; and circuitry configured for sending a report of the measured received signal power level of said synchronization signal block to a network element.
