摘要: A vehicular steering system for steering both front and rear wheels through steering operation of a steering wheel wherein a rear wheel steering mechanism is advantageously reduced in both size and weight. The rear wheel steering mechanism includes a shaft member which rotates in interlocking cooperation with a steering wheel and which is inserted and supported rotatably through a cylindrical holder in a sleeve fixed to the vehicle body. A crank pin is attached to the shaft member, with a joint member being loosely mounted and supported thereon. A link mechanism is pivoted at one end thereof to the vehicle body and integrally connected at the other end thereof to the joint member, and right and left rear wheel steering tie rods are connected and supported respectively through ball joints to the right and left of the joint member. The axis of each rear wheel steering tie rod, the center of each ball joint and the core of the crank pin are substantially aligned with one another on each of the right and left sides.

摘要: The favorable responsiveness and the stability of a vehicle is sought to be achieved even under extreme traveling conditions. A yawing moment which a vehicle is desired to produce is computed according to a dynamic state quantity of the vehicle such as the vehicle speed and the cornering force of each of the wheels, and a braking force or a traction which is applied to each of the wheels is individually controlled so as to achieve the computed yawing moment. Therefore, even under conditions where the gripping force of the tires is close to a limit, it is possible to improve the responsiveness and stability of the behavior of the vehicle. Further, by using the sliding mode control, it is possible to improve the stability and the robustness of the control system.

摘要: The maneuvering area of a front and rear wheel steering vehicle is minimized by making the rear wheels follow the trajectories of the front wheels. This can be accomplished by steering the rear wheels so that they may coincide, in a spatially fixed absolute coordinate system, with the steer angles of the front wheels when they were located at the same locations as the current positions of the rear wheels. Further proposed is an algorithm for achieving the required rear wheel steering control which comprises the steps of detecting the yaw angle of the vehicle body and subtracting from the steer angles of the front wheels at the time point when the front wheels were located at the current positions of the rear wheels, the change in the yaw angle of the vehicle body from the said time point to the current time point. Thus, the vehicle is able to go through a most narrow and tortuous road for the given size of the vehicle without deviating from the prescribed course of the road, and the driver is required only to get the front part of the vehicle pass through narrow points of the road without paying attention to the rear part of the vehicle.

摘要: A wheel alignment control system for a vehicle having at least one pair of rear road wheels opposing each other in the transverse direction of the vehicle, for changing and setting a wheel alignment factor of the wheels in relation to a current speed of the vehicle. The wheel alignment factor to be set by the control system is a camber angle of the rear wheels, a static toeing angle of the rear wheels, or a dynamic toeing angle of the rear wheels. The dynamic toeing angle of changed to be set by changing a stroke characteristic of each of a pair of suspenion units respectively supporting the rear wheels, on which the stroke characteristic of an associated one of the suspension units exerts an effect such that, in accordance with a stroke length thereof, the toeing angle of a corresponding one of the rear wheels is varied.

摘要: A steering system for a vehicle with a front wheel and a rear wheel, in which the rear wheel is steerable in relation to a steering operation of the front wheel, such that a ratio control of a steered angle ratio of the rear wheel to the front wheel is effected to be variable in accordance with a travelling speed of the vehicle. 摘要: A steering system for vehicles comprising a steering wheel, a front steering sub-system including a drive pinion interlocked to be rotatable with the steering wheel, a rack shaft having a first rack engaged with the drive pinion and a second rack separated from the first rack, and a driven pinion engaged with the second rack; and a rear steering sub-system including an input shaft operatively connected to the driven pinion, an off-centered pin provided at one end of the input shaft, a pair of rear tie-rods adapted each respectively to turn either of the rear wheels, and a joint member relatively rotatably connected to the off-centered pin and both of the rear tie-rods. The joint member has a longitudinal axis thereof extending transversely of the vehicle. The axis of the off-centered pin is located substantially on the longitudinal axis. The rear tie-rods are connected to the joint member substantially on the longitudinal axis substantially at the same level as the axis of the off-centered pin.The steering system may further comprise an engagement adjustment mechanism for adjusting the engagement between at least either of the pinions and one of the racks associated therewith, the adjustment mechanism being constituted with a gear box having accommodated therein the drive pinion, the rack shaft, and the driven pinion, an off-centered ring being interposed between the inner circumference of the gear box and the outer circumference of the rack shaft, and a rotating mechanism for rotating the off-centered ring.
