    摘要: The collaboration among the image forming devices is practiced on the computer network for efficiently utilizing the printing resources. When a large print job is requested, the parent image forming device seeks an appropriate child image forming device to share the same print job during a predetermined collaboration process. To minimize the waste and maximize the productivity during the collaboration process, the parent device ascertains that the child device is able to complete a part of the collaboration print job before the corresponding image data is transferred from the parent device to the child device. One of the resources that the parent device ascertains is the available memory amount at the child device for the image data to be transferred. If a sufficient amount of memory is not available at the child device, the image data is transferred to prevent an incomplete collaboration task at the child device. In addition, other resources such as paper and toner are also monitored in conjunction with the memory. Furthermore, the parent and child device monitor each other for completing a collaboration print job so that the collaboration print job is completed in the most efficient manner.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus operable in a trial copy mode before a usual copying operation is disclosed. The apparatus includes a trial copy mode section for executing the trial copy mode for forming a document image on a recording medium in set conditions at least once and discharging it to a preselected destination. An automatic document feeding section is positioned above a glass platen mounted on the apparatus body for automatically feeding a document to the glass platen. A first copy starting section includes a start key for commanding the start of a copying operation or a trial copy key for commanding the execution of the trial copy mode. A second copy starting section determines, in response to a copy start command output from the first copy starting section, whether or not the document set on the automatic document feeding section is a single document and executes, if it is a single document and when the next document is set, an SADF (Semi Automatic Document Feeder) mode for starting copying the next document even if the start key is not pressed. A copy start control section selectively executes, in response to the copy start command and even if the document set on the automatic document feeding section is a single document, the start of the SADF mode of the second copy starting section or the inhibition of the SADF mode.

    摘要: A communication control device connected between an image forming apparatus and a communication line in an image forming apparatus supervising system which connects the image forming apparatus and a host machine by the communication line. Assume that particular data of an image forming apparatus which is updated day by day should be read periodically. Then, even when the power supply to the image forming apparatus is shut off, a host machine can access the apparatus to read the data which should be read periodically, and receive it. In addition, the data can be preserved until the next time for reading. The data is stored in a first memory until the data is ready for transfer to the host machine, at which time the data is transferred to a second memory and then to the host machine.
