    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may measure, using one or more receive beams, a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) transmitted on a transmit beam of the CSI-RS according to a beam management configuration for periodic CSI-RSs, where the UE performs measurements according to a static beam sweeping schedule or a dynamic beam sweeping schedule associated with the transmit beam of the CSI-RS based at least in part on the beam management configuration. In some aspects, the UE may transmit a measurement report indicating one or more measurements of the CSI-RS based at least in part on measuring the CSI-RS. Numerous other aspects are provided.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for reducing a quantity of antenna elements for uplink transmission. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes determining a virtual power headroom (VPHR) associated with uplink transmission for each of a plurality of beams, selecting one or more beams of the plurality of beams for the uplink transmission based on the determination such that the VPHR associated with each of the one or more beams is at least equal to or greater than zero, and indicating a parameter associated with the one or more beams for selection of a beam to be used for the uplink transmission.

    Abstract: A UE may be configured to select narrower or wider beams that may be suitable for use with a current UE mobility, scattering environment, etc. The UE may track changes to an identified beam of a certain width, and so may recover from tracking or other radio link failures by switching to a beam that is spatially adjacent or to a beam of a different width. The UE may identify a first beam associated with a first beam width based on at least one reference signal received by the UE. The UE may further determine a set of beams based on the first beam width that is associated with the identified first beam, and the determined set of beams may include at least one beam corresponding to the first beam width. The UE may further measure respective channel qualities associated with each beam of the determined set of beams.

    Abstract: Aspects are provided which allow a UE to apply new radio high-speed train mode determination and false alarm suppression in HST deployments. The UE combines a plurality of indications associated with a high-speed train (HST) mode detection into a consolidated HST mode configuration signal. The UE determines whether to suppress the consolidated HST mode configuration signal based on a mobility metric of the UE and a plurality of thresholds. The UE transitions into a HST mode when the consolidated HST mode configuration signal is not suppressed based on the mobility metric of the UE exceeding at least one of the plurality of thresholds. As a result, false HST mode flags may be avoided and HST mode detection success rates may thereby be improved.
