Abstract: A bicycle control device includes an electronic controller that controls a motor, which assists propulsion of a bicycle. The electronic controller is configured to decrease an output of the motor to less than or equal to a limit value upon determining a shifting device is performing a shifting action to change a transmission ratio of the bicycle. The electronic controller is further configured to change at least one of the limit value of the output of the motor and a time in which the output of the motor is decreased upon determining the shifting device is performing the shifting action in accordance with at least one of an actuation state of the shifting device in the shifting action and a parameter of the bicycle that is changed by the shifting action performed by the shifting device.

Abstract: A bicycle control device is configured to appropriately control a motor. The bicycle control device is provided in a bicycle driving device. A bicycle control device includes an electronic controller that controls a motor, which assists with propulsion of a bicycle. In a case where a traveling speed of the bicycle is less than or equal to a predetermined speed, the electronic controller controls the motor so that the motor assists with propulsion of the bicycle. The predetermined speed is changed in accordance with at least one of a usage environment of the bicycle and a posture of the bicycle.

Abstract: A bicycle controller includes an electronic control unit that controls a transmission unit and a motor in accordance with a shift request that changes the transmission ratio. If the transmission ratio is changed in multiple steps in accordance with the shift request, then the electronic control unit selectively executes one of first and second shifting operations. In the first shifting operation, the output of the motor is limited and the transmission unit is operated to reach a requested transmission ratio that corresponds to the shift request. In the second shifting operation, the output of the motor is limited and the transmission unit is operated to reach an intermediate transmission ratio of the requested transmission ratio, and after the electronic control unit temporarily reduces the limitation on the output of the motor, the electronic control unit again limits the output of the motor and operates the transmission unit.

Abstract: A bicycle control apparatus is basically provided for controlling a bicycle having a drive assistance electric motor. The bicycle control apparatus includes a manual drive force detector, a shift state detector and a controller. The manual drive force detector detects a manual drive force. The shift state detector detects a shift state of the bicycle. The controller issues a command for controlling a drive assistance force to be outputted by the drive assistance electric motor in accordance with the manual drive force detected by the manual drive force detector. The controller controls the drive assistance force to delay a reduction in the drive assistance force in relation to a reduction in the manual drive force upon determining the manual drive force is reduced, and controls the delay in the reduction of the drive assistance force in accordance with the shift state of the bicycle.
