    Abstract: A terminal device configured to receive a radio signal from which measurements can be used to assist in determining a position of the terminal device. The terminal device detects one or more system information blocks carrying position assistance information transmitted from the infrastructure equipment and estimates the position of the terminal device by combining the identified position assistance information with the radio signal received by the position detection receiver circuitry. Furthermore the terminal device receives from the infrastructure equipment an indication of relative risk that the position assistance information will change, and in response to the indication of the relative risk that the position assistance information will change to adapt the receiving of the one or more system information blocks to receive an updated version of the position assistance information in accordance with the relative risk.

    Abstract: A method of evaluating whether to handover a terminal device from communicating with a first network infrastructure element associated with a first communication cell to communicating with a second network infrastructure element associated with a second communication cell in a wireless telecommunications system. The method includes establishing an indication of radio conditions associated with a path between the terminal device and the first network infrastructure element; and establishing an indication of a second measurement of radio conditions associated with a communication path between the terminal device and the second network infrastructure element; and determining whether to handover the terminal device from communicating with the first network infrastructure element to the second network infrastructure element based on a comparison of the indication of the first measurement of radio conditions and the indication of the second measurement of radio conditions.

    Abstract: A relay device configured to communicate with a terminal device of the network and with a base station of the network. The relay device comprises transmitter circuitry, receiver circuitry and controller circuitry. The controller circuitry is configured in combination with at least the transmitter circuitry: to select a maximum transmission power to be used by the terminal device for communicating with the relay device, wherein the identified maximum transmission power is based on link information relating to one or both of the link between the relay device and the base station and the link between the relay device and the terminal; to notify the communication device of the selected maximum transmission power for the terminal to select an actual transmission power and to transmit signals to the relay device at a power that is no more than the maximum transmission power.

    Abstract: A method of allocating resources in a mobile telecommunications system, the resources being for a relay node to operate as a terminal-to-terminal relay for a device-to-device communication between a first terminal and a second terminal.
