Abstract: A method of controlling communications within a wireless communications network is provided. The method comprises in advance of transmitting the data by a child node to a donor node, configuring, by one of the donor node and a parent node, a Buffer Status Report, general BSR timer for the child node, the general BSR timer being common and synchronised among at least a subset of a plurality of infrastructure equipment, receiving, at the parent node, subsequent to expiry of the general BSR timer, a signal comprising a BSR from the child node indicating an amount of uplink data that the child node has ready to transmit to the parent node, and scheduling, by the parent node, in accordance with the BSR received from the child node, communications resources of the backhaul communications link to the child node in which the child node is to transmit the uplink data.

Abstract: A method for operating an infrastructure equipment forming part of a wireless communications network is provided. The wireless communications network comprises a base station and a non-terrestrial network part, the non-terrestrial network part transmitting one or more spot beams to provide a wireless access interface for transmitting signals to and receiving signals representing data from a communications device within a coverage region of a cell or one of the spot beams, the spot beam forming a cell. The method comprises transmitting, to the communications device, an indication of a first condition to be met before the communications device should transmit assistance information to the infrastructure equipment, receiving the assistance information from the communications device upon the first condition being met, determining, based on the assistance information, that a cell change of the communications device should be initiated, and initiating the cell change of the communications device.

Abstract: A method of operating a communications device for receiving user plane data from a wireless communications network when the communications device is not in an active radio resource connected mode is provided. Abstract: A communications device acting as a relay device is configured to communicate with communications devices operating with a mobile communications network and infrastructure equipment. The relay device is not able to form new connections with one or more of the communications devices when the predetermined conditions are met, and to broadcast the indication bit.

The method includes: establishing a target location; selecting a first positioning technique for navigating towards the target location; receiving first positioning assistance information from the location server for the first positioning technique; determining a first location of the terminal device in accordance with the first positioning technique and the first positioning assistance information; establishing a first trigger for using a second positioning technique which is associated with higher positioning accuracy than the first positioning technique; and, in response to determining the first trigger is satisfied, determining a second location of the terminal device in accordance with the second positioning technique and second positioning assistance information received from the location server.
