The pixel electrode includes: a plurality of unit pixel electrodes which are arranged substantially in a matrix form; and a connecting electrode which connects the unit pixel electrodes to each other. Neighboring unit pixel electrodes adjacent to each other in a column direction are separated from each other by a first in-between area extending along a row direction, neighboring unit pixel electrodes adjacent to each other in the row direction are separated from each other by a second in-between area extending along the column direction, and the connecting electrode is disposed in a region in which corners of the unit pixel electrodes face each other.
