Abstract: Provided is a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting higher data rates. Provided are a method and device for supporting federated learning in a wireless communication system. The method comprises: receiving, from an AF, a first request including a list of UE addresses, QoS reference or individual QoS parameters, and alternative service requirements; and transmitting, to the AF, a first response message including a result for the list of UE addresses in response to receiving to the first request. The result for the list of UE addresses includes information indicating whether the first request is granted or not for UE addresses in the list of UE addresses.

A method by which an access network (AN) node of a wireless communication system manages a session by using backhaul information, according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, may comprise the steps of: selecting an access and mobility management function (AMF) when a registration request message is received from a user equipment (UE); selecting one transport network layer association (TNLA) from among candidate TNLAs for the selected AMF by considering the type of backhaul network of a control plane; transmitting an initial UE message to the selected AMF by using the selected TNLA; and performing a registration procedure of the UE when a selected TNLA response signal is received from the selected AMF, wherein the candidate TNLA can include a low earth orbit (LEO) and/or a geosynchronous earth orbit (GEP).

Provided are an access and mobility management function (AMF) and a method performed by an AMF, including receiving, from a terminal, a registration request message for a protocol data unit (PDU) session including information on a requested slice associated with the PDU session; determining whether the requested slice is allowed and whether the requested slice is for a network slice admission control (NSAC); if the requested slice is allowed for the terminal and is for the NSAC, determining whether the requested slice is exempt from the NSAC for the PDU session; and if the requested slice is exempt from the NSAC for the PDU session, transmitting, to the terminal, a registration accept message as a response to the registration request message.

Abstract: A session management function (SMF) entity related to a first protocol data unit (PDU) session between a user equipment (UE) and a data network (DN) for a network slice, for monitoring data usage is provided. The SMF entity includes a transceiver, and at least one processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to determine to change at least one of a target user plane function (UPF) or a target SMF for connectivity between the UE and the DN for the network slice, transmit an update request message including accumulated data usage information for the first PDU session to a policy control function (PCF) configured to update remaining allowed usage, based on the determining to change at least one of the target UPF or the target SMF, and receive a response message from the PCF, the remaining allowed usage being updated based on the accumulated data usage information.
