    摘要: In a method of testing a color cathode ray tube, an electron gun assembly is energized to emit electron beams and only a horizontal deflection magnetic field is applied to the electron beams so that a line image is displayed on a screen. A degaussing coil is located in front of the panel and a degaussing magnetic field having a frequency the same as that of a commercial power source. Thereafter, the degaussing coil is moved in a direction away from the panel and is deenergized when the coil is removed from the panel at a predetermined distance. A vertical deflecting coil is energized to display an image and a picture quality of the tube is tested.

    摘要: A color cathode ray tube includes a face plate having a curved inner surface and a substantially rectangular effective area. A phosphor screen is formed on the inner surface of the face plate, and a shadow mask is arranged to oppose the phosphor screen. The effective area is formed such that, in an area of the effective area which is away from the center of the effective area by 1/2 or more of a distance between the center of the effective area and an axial end portion of the effective area in the major axis, a difference between the thickness of the face plate at a point which is on the minor axis and located away from the center of the effective area by a predetermined distance and the thickness of the face plate at a point which is on the diagonal axis and located away from the center of the effective area by the predetermined distance is smaller than a difference between the thickness of the face plate at the point on the diagonal axis and the thickness of the face plate at a point which is on the major axis and located away from the center of the effective area by the predetermined distance.

    摘要: A color cathode-ray tube includes a curved shadow mask formed having a number of apertures and a substantially rectangular effective surface facing the inner surface of the panel. The effective surface of the shadow mask has a center through which the tube axis passes, a horizontal axis passing through the center and at right angles to the tube axis, and a vertical axis extending and at right angles to the tube axis and the horizontal axis. The effective surface of the shadow mask is formed so that, in the region located on the horizontal axis, the radius of curvature in the direction of the horizontal axis of the surface is larger than the radius of curvature in the direction of the vertical axis of the surface in a region substantially halfway between the center of the surface and a horizontal end of the surface, and so that, in the region located on the horizontal axis, the horizontal radius of curvature is smaller than the vertical radius of curvature in a region near the horizontal end portion.

    摘要: A color picture tube comprises a tube envelope having a tube axis and including a neck section, a funnel section and a panel section, an electron gun assembly for emitting at least three electron beams, and a shadow mask assembly disposed in the tube envelope adjacent to the phosphor screen. The shadow mask assembly includes a shadow mask and a frame. The shadow mask has a plate portion which is formed having a curved surface with a dome-like shape opposing the phosphor screen and regularly arranged apertures each for allowing the three electron beams to pass through, and a skirt portion extending from the peripheral portion of the plate portion along the tube axis. The frame surrounds the peripheral portion of the skirt portion of the shadow mask, and the frame and the skirt portion of the shadow mask are coupled to each other by welding at a plurality of locations. The frame is made of a metal material having a thermal expansion coefficient higher than the shadow mask.

    摘要: The shadow mask of a color cathode ray tube has a number of apertures in the effective area passed by electron beams to the phosphor screen formed in the inner surface of the panel.
