摘要： To provide a display device capable of displaying a moving picture with high definition and at high speed. An image display system includes: an image display unit; and a control unit. The control unit has: a block discrimination circuit portion; an image processing portion; a storage portion; and a synchronizing signal generation portion. The block discrimination circuit portion discriminates a moving picture or a still picture to process the image information in accordance with the discriminated result, in which the number of gradations for the image information processed when the discriminated result is the moving picture is lower than when the discriminated result is the still picture. Thereby, the high definition image display and the high speed moving picture display can be effected by reducing the information with lower degree of recognition.

摘要： In order to realize liquid crystal display devices having a wide viewing angle and reduce the absorption loss by polarizers and color filters, and arrangement of reflective color selective means, reflective polarizing selective means, a light control element, and others are specified. The liquid crystal display device able to produce a display of high performance and improved brightness is formed of liquid crystal display elements 20 for controlling polarizing light so that the major axis direction of a pixel is arranged approximately in parallel with a direction wherein the linearly polarized light component of the projected light projected from said illumination device is high; an illumination device 50 arranged at a rear plane of the liquid crystal display element; a reflector 54 arranged at a rear plane of the illumination device; light control elements 40 and reflective polarizing selective means 30 arranged between the liquid crystal display element and the illumination device; and a screen arranged at an opposite side relative to the illumination device of the liquid crystal display element.

摘要： An image display displays image data on an image display part constructed by a display pixel array. In an image display in which image data input means for inputting image data so that the display pixel array has two neighboring areas having different frame rates (>0) is provided or image data is displayed on an image display part constructed by a display pixel array, there is provided image data input means which can input at least one moving image data and at least one still image data into the image display part at different frame rates (>0). A high precision image display can be realized hardly changing a display pixel rewriting speed. A moving image signal output circuit and a still image signal output circuit output image data to the display pixel array, and they are provided as circuit configurations independent of each other.

摘要： A liquid crystal active matrix display device includes a first substrate having a thin film transistor formed thereon. A light-screening film 1 is located on the first substrate in a manner to be overlapped with an ITO. The display device includes a second substrate having a color filter and a light-screening film 2 formed thereon. The second substrate is opposed to the first substrate. The light-screening film 2 extends from the uncontrollable area by a certain value depending on a voltage from the external, resulting in improving a numerical aperture.
