    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a coil component that includes a drum core having a winding core and first and second flange portions provided at opposite ends of the winding core; a wire wound around the winding core; terminal electrodes provided in the first and second flange portions, the terminal electrodes being connected to ends of the wire; and a magnetic top plate made of magnetic-powder containing resin in which magnetic powder is mixed in binder resin, the magnetic top plate being fixed to the first and second flange portions. The magnetic top plate has a lower surface facing the first and second flange portions and an upper surface located opposite to the lower surface. The density of the binder resin is higher in a surface layer part on a side of the lower surface than in a surface layer part on a side of the upper surface.

    Abstract: A coil component includes a first core, a second core, a lead wire, an outside mark, and an inside mark. The first core includes a winding portion and a pair of core ends. The second core connects a pair of the core ends and includes an inside surface and an outside surface. The lead wire is wound around the winding portion. The outside mark is formed on the outside surface of the second core and designed to change its arrangement at the time of rotating the second core by 90 degrees in a rotational direction whose central axis is along a normal direction of the outside surface. The inside mark with undulation is formed on the inside surface of the second core and designed to change its arrangement at the time of rotating the second core by 90 degrees in the rotational direction.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a coil component that includes a drum-shaped core having a first flange part provided at one end of a winding core part, first to fourth terminal metal fittings formed on the first flange part so as to be arranged in this order in a second direction, and first to fourth wires wound around the winding core part. One ends of the first to fourth wires are connected to different ones of the first to fourth terminal metal fittings. A distance between the first and second terminal metal fittings is larger than the distance between the third and fourth terminal metal fittings. An amount of an adhesive used to bond each of the third and fourth terminal metal fittings is greater than an amount of an adhesive used to bond each of the first and second metal fittings.

    Abstract: A pulse transformer includes a winding drum and a coil portion in which wires are wound around the winding core. The coil portion includes a first general winding area, a second general winding area, and a low density winding area. In the first general winding area, the wires are mutually closely wound around the winding core. In the second general winding area, the wires continuing from the wires of the first general winding area are mutually closely wound around the winding core. The low density winding area is formed along a winding axis of the winding core between the first general winding area and the second general winding area and has a low winding density of the wires along the winding axis.
