    摘要: In this invention, a channel estimation value of data symbols of a data channel is calculated by weighting and averaging pilot symbols in a parallel time multiplexing method. Also, a channel estimation value of data symbols during each data symbol interval is calculated by dividing data symbols in a slot into a plurality of data symbol intervals, selecting pilot symbols suitable for calculation of a channel estimation value of data symbols during each data symbol interval and weighting and averaging that pilot symbols. Also, a fading frequency is detected based on an inner product value of pilot symbols. Weighting factors are changed based on the detected fading frequency. Also, a channel estimation value is calculated by weighting and averaging pilot signals using a plurality of weighting sequences. The calculated channel estimation value is used to demodulate received data. The output data with the highest quality is selected by judging reliability of these plurality of demodulated data. It is also possible to select some weighting sequences based on the result of the reliability judgment of the demodulated data for predetermined period of time. In this case, after the selection, demodulation is performed by using these selected weighting sequences only.

According to this mobile station position estimation scheme, a first signal sequence and a second signal sequence which are uniquely predetermined for the mobile station are exchanged between the mobile station and the base station, and then a position of the mobile station is estimated at one station among the base station and the mobile station, by obtaining a phase difference between the first signal sequence and the second signal sequence and calculating an estimated distance between the base station and the mobile station according to the phase difference.

    摘要: In a mobile communication system in which the service area is covered with a plurality of location registration areas each having a plurality of cells each relating to a specific base station, each location registration area has a plurality of groups so that the cells belonging to any group overlaps partly with the cells of other groups, but do not completely coincide with cells of other groups, and each mobile station belongs to one of said groups. When a mobile station moves beyond the border of location registration areas, the location updating for the mobile station is carried out at the cell in which the mobile station stays. In that case, as the mobile stations are classified into a plurality of groups, the traffic in each cell for location updating is dispersed to many cells, and the maximum traffic density for location updating per cell is reduced. So, the number of control channels in the system for location updating may be reduced.

    摘要: A central station generates and transmitted data of a transmission format. The transmission format includes an I/B bit indicating permission or inhibition of a new transmission of a next transmission timing of terminal stations, an R/N bit indicating reception or non-reception of a signal at the central station, and partial data produced from data received at the central station in accordance with a predetermined rule. One or plural of the terminal stations transmit the signal containing signal-length data W to the central station. The terminal station starts new transmission when the I/B bit indicates the permission of transmission. The central station determines and transmits the I/B bit, the R/N bit, and the partial data in accordance with the reception of the signal-length data W and the data transmitted from the terminal station. The terminal station determines whether or not a signal has been correctly received at the central station, in accordance with the R/N bit and the partial data. The terminal station suspends the transmission of signals for a predetermined period of time, when it is determined that the signal has not been correctly received at the central station.
