The security service manager terminal includes: a sensor control section for transmitting a detection signal obtained from a sensor to an observation monitor and a user terminal; an operation history recording section recording operation history of the sensor; and a service history reporting section transmitting the operation history to the central device. The central device includes a fee calculation section calculating fees from the operation history of a sensor received from the security service manager terminal. Thus, the user is charged fees based on his usage of the services.

摘要： The present invention is a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device, wherein light having an exposure energy is irradiated on the surface of a photo-sensitive resin layer having a predetermined film thickness, and a distribution of thermal deformation characteristics in the thickness direction (or the plane direction) of the photo-sensitive resin layer is formed, then heat treatment is performed to form random undulation (micro-grooves or micro-wrinkles) on the surface of the photo-sensitive resin layer.

摘要： An optical scanning apparatus includes M number of light sources that includes M number of semiconductor lasers and M number of coupling lenses, where M is a positive integer, a deflecting scanning unit that deflects laser beams from the light sources to a surface to be scanned, and a transmission-type prism that deflects optical path of the laser beam from at least one of the light sources by an infinitesimal amount of angle. The prism is disposed between the light sources and the deflecting scanning unit, has an incident surface and an output surface nonparallel to each other, and can rotate around an axis of rotation substantially parallel to the optical path of the laser beam.

摘要： The invention relates to a backlight unit for liquid crystal displays, etc.; and its object is to provide a backlight unit not involving the problem that the emitted light leaks out of the optical waveguide, even when the space around the cold-cathode tubes in the light source unit for it is filled with a liquid of which the refractive index is nearly the same as that of the glass material that forms the outer wall of the cold-cathode tubes. The backlight unit comprises a housing 6 which houses cold-cathode tubes 2, 4 therein and of which the inner surface is coated with a light reflector 10; a transparent liquid filled in the housing 6; and an optical waveguide 1 made of a transparent substance and having a light-emitting surface S. The reflective surface of the light reflector 10 has a cross-section profile of X-T-U-V-W-Y, on which the light emitted by the cold-cathode tubes 2, 4 is reflected, and the thus-reflected light is led to the light-emitting surface S of the optical waveguide 1 at an incident angle not smaller than the critical angle to the surface S.

Pivotally mounted toggle arms of the device have respective ends with laterally extending hook portions in opposed relationship and are rotatable in a first sense to engage a pin between the hook portions and in an opposite sense to release a connection pin engaged thereby.

摘要： An imidazole-isocyanuric acid adduct having the following general formula is disclosed: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a .beta.-cyanoethyl group and a .beta.-[3,5-diamino-S-triazinyl-(1)]-ethyl group, R.sub.2 stands for a monovalent hydrocarbon group having up to 17 carbon atoms, R.sub.3 is a member selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom and an alkyl group having up to 4 carbon atoms, with the proviso that when R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom, R.sub.2 is a methyl or phenyl group and R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom and when R.sub.1 is a .beta.-cyanoethyl group, R.sub.2 is a phenyl group and R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom, and n is a number of from 0 to 2.This adduct has peculiar characteristics not possessed by ordinary salts. Namely, the adduct is stable in water, and it decomposes in a solvent or under heating. The adduct is valuable as a curing agent for epoxy resins, and it can be utilized for purification of imidazoles.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device uses nematic liquid crystal compounds having a high positive dielectric anisotropy for rotating the plane of polarized light. The optical activity of a composition including such materials can be eliminated by impressing a sufficiently high voltage across a cell containing such materials. These properties make it possible to use such compositions as the basis of a device which is, in effect, an optical shutter.
