Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure provide methods and apparatus for positioning in a wireless network. One embodiment provides a method, performed by a target device, for enabling detection of a narrowband positioning reference signal, NPRS, location in a radio frame. The method includes: obtaining, from a location server, assistance data related to a neighbour cell in a reference and neighbour cell list. The assistance data includes timing offset information for the neighbour cell; determining a time of a NPRS subframe for the neighbour cell and/or NPRS sequence based on the timing offset information; measuring a positioning reference signal (PRS) based on the determined time; and reporting the measured PRS to the location server.

Information may be generated indicating transmission duration, DMRS configuration, and/or starting position for Msg3 sending by a user equipment, UE. Transmission of signaling of the information to the UE may be initiated for scheduling Msg3 transmission by the UE. A method of scheduling by the UE includes receiving information from the network node indicating transmission duration, DMRS configuration, and/or starting position for Msg3 transmission. The UE transmits Msg3 based on a schedule determined based on the information.

Abstract: There is provided mechanisms for assist cell selection or reselection in a relay-assisted wireless network. A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises providing, towards a user equipment that has an end-to-end wireless link composed of a wireless access link and at least one wireless backhaul link between itself and a donor node of the relay-assisted wireless network, backhaul link characteristics of the at least one wireless backhaul link. The backhaul link characteristics assist the user equipment to derive an end-to-end wireless link quality metric for the end-to-end wireless link when performing a cell selection or a reselection procedure.

Abstract: A method may be provided to operate a wireless terminal in communication with a network node. The method may include receiving a Physical Downlink Control Channel, PDCCH, order from the network node. The PDCCH order may include an identification for a Random Access CHannel RACH occasion to be used for a RACH message 1 preamble transmission. Moreover, the identification may include a first index that indicates a set of RACH occasions and a second index that indicates the RACH occasion associated with the set.
