    摘要: A laser beam scanning system includes a laser for emitting a laser beam modulated with image information to be recorded and a deflecting device, such as polygon mirror, for deflecting the laser beam over a predetermined angle repetitively, so that the laser beam is scanned on a scanning surface, thereby an image is formed on the scanning surface. When a plurality of laser beams are used at the same time, the plurality of laser beams are arranged in an array inclined with respect to the scanning direction. In this case, a sync sensor generates a sync signal in response to a laser beam received in the first place. When a polygon mirror is so structured to have a reflecting surface which is defined by a curved surface having a predetermined radius of curvature, a f.theta. lens may be discarded. In this case, when a transparent layer is formed on this curved reflecting surface, no distortion in scanning speed is produced even without using any electrical correction. Besides, it is also preferable to control the intensity of laser beam so as to maintain the image density of a resultant image at constant.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a light emitting array composed of a plurality of light emitting elements that emits light fluxes. An imaging element array may be provided so as to perform imaging with the light fluxes on a prescribed plane. A three dimensional exposure intensity distribution of the light flux is obtained per each light emitting element. A prescribed attribute is obtained from each of the exposure intensity distributions. A plurality of comparison values for the entire exposure valid region may be obtained from different units which consist of two or more successive attributes. Prescribed light emitting quantities enabling all of the comparison values to fall within a prescribed range may be determined and set to respective light emitting elements.

In the present laser printer, the frequency of a pixel clock is varied in accordance with the pixel density or line speed, thereby maintaining the light intensity of the laser beam in each pixel substantially at constant. Preferably, the optical scanning system includes a first optical system leading a laser beam emitted from a laser to a rotating polygon mirror and a second optical system for leading the laser beam deflected by the polygon mirror to a photosensitive drum, whereby a first light path defined by the first optical system and a second light path defined by the second optical system cross each other at different elevations at least partly.

    摘要: A system for controlling the operation of a semiconductor laser is provided. In one aspect of the present invention, a switching element, which is turned on and off in accordance with a signal modulated with image information, is connected in series with the semiconductor laser for controlling the operation thereof. In another aspect of the present invention, a semiconductor laser control system includes a photodetector for detecting the intensity of a laser beam emitted from the laser, a comparator for comparing the detected intensity with a predetermined refence intensity, an up/down counter which changes its count depending on the result of the comparison at the comparator, and a laser driver which supplies a driving current to the laser as modified by the count of the counter. A reset circuit is provided to reset the counter when at least the laser driver is powered up with a predetermined supply voltage. In addition, the laser driver is so structured that the supply of the driving current to the laser is disconnected for a predetermined time period after the power up thereof.
