Abstract:
An exemplary mobile device activation system may receive, by way of a mobile device not currently activated on a mobile network, a request to initiate an activation process to activate the mobile device on the mobile network, authenticate the mobile device to a user account associated with the mobile network, establish an activation session with the authenticated mobile device, receive, during the activation session and by way of the authenticated mobile device, user input indicating a user-selected activation parameter for the authenticated mobile device, and activate the authenticated mobile device on the mobile network based on the user-selected activation parameter for the authenticated mobile device.
Abstract:
A middleware device opens, based on an assistance call from a mobile device, a first leg of a websocket with a system associated with a call center customer representative, and sends a SMS text message to the mobile device that includes a first authentication token. The middleware device receives, while attempting to establish a second leg of the websocket between the first middleware device and the mobile device, a second authentication token from the mobile device, authenticates the mobile device based on the second authentication token, and opens the second leg of the websocket between the middleware device and the mobile device based on whether the authentication is successful. The middleware device receives a captured display screen from the mobile device via the second leg of the websocket, and sends the captured display screen to the system associated with the customer representative via the first leg of the websocket.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for generating and transmitting multimedia messaging service (MMS) messages are disclosed. In some implementations, a mobile device presents, at a touchscreen, a visual user interface. The visual user interface includes multiple thumbnails and multiple contact blocks. Each thumbnail identifies a file. Each contact block identifies a contact having a messaging address. The mobile device receives, via the touchscreen, a selection of a first thumbnail from the multiple thumbnails. The mobile device receives, via the touchscreen, an indication of dragging the first thumbnail across the visual user interface to a first contact block. The mobile device transmits, responsive to the dragging of the first thumbnail to the first contact block, the file identified in the thumbnail to the messaging address of the contact identified in the first contact block.
Abstract:
A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provides a beacon management service that includes logic that allows a user to configure a beacon system remotely and off-site relative to a location of the beacon system, and a beacon service that provides contextual data to end users based on beacons.

Abstract:
Techniques described herein may allow for the registration of demo devices (e.g., for-sale wireless telephones, tablet computers, etc.), and the presentation of content, such as promotional content, for the demo devices. The demo devices may output a beacon via a short-range protocol, which may include unique identifiers of the demo devices. When a customer device approaches a demo device, the customer device may automatically detect the beacon and obtain promotional content regarding the demo device, and present the promotional content to a customer.
Abstract:
Examples are disclosed that facilitate connecting in a secure and efficient manner a mobile device to networked-enabled devices located in a premises. The security of the networked-enabled, connected devices in the premises may be maintained by use of a gateway device situated behind a home router. Through the home router, the gateway device maintains a persistent connection with a network component of a service provider. When an authorized application executing on a mobile device attempts to connect with the gateway device to communicate with the respective customer connected devices, the device control application is connected to a pre-established communication port to allow direct communication between the device control application and the respective customer connected device. A service provider's network component in some examples maintains the pre-established connection for the duration of the session in which the customer connected device is to be controlled via a mobile device, or longer.
Abstract:
Account information associated with a mobile device is obtained through a mobile wireless communication network from a database of subscriber account records for mobile wireless communication service subscribers. The account information may identify the previous mobile device, the mobile device, and/or length of usage of the mobile device. Advice information is selected from a database of advice regarding operation of the mobile devices such that the selected advice information is adapted for the account, and the selected advice information is then provided via a user interface element of the mobile device. Additionally, multiple levels of search related phrases, in which the phrases at each level correspond to a user-selected phrase at the previous level, are presented via a user element of a mobile device.
