Abstract: A pen input device sheet, which contacts a tip part of a core body of an electronic pen for a pen input device, includes a resin film layer. A diameter of the tip part is SR. An amount of sinking of the resin film layer is δ and a coefficient of kinetic friction between the resin film layer and the tip part is μ, which change according to a load when the tip part is in contact with the pen input device sheet. When the load applied to the tip part of the core body is changed and corresponding measurements are taken, and the measurements plotted with μ allocated to an ordinate axis and a ratio of δ/SR is allocated to an abscissa axis, a fitted straight line plotted based on the measurements has a proportional relation corresponding to a proportional relation between μ and the ratio of δ/SR.

Abstract: An integrated circuit includes a first terminal that is connected to a first end of a first capacitor, the first capacitor being included in a resonant circuit together with a coil, a second terminal that is connected to a second end of the first capacitor, a plurality of second capacitors connected in parallel between the first and second terminals, and a control circuit which, in operation, changes a capacitance of each of the second capacitors. An electronic pen includes the integrated circuit and a resonant circuit, in which the first capacitor includes a variable-capacitance capacitor which, in operation, varies a capacitance of the variable-capacitance capacitor in accordance with pressure applied to a nib of the electronic pen.

Abstract: A position indicator includes a capacitor having a capacitance that changes in correspondence to a force applied to one end part of a housing. The capacitor is configured by a pressure detecting chip that includes a first electrode and a second electrode disposed opposite to the first electrode with a predetermined distance defined therebetween to have capacitance Cv formed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The capacitance Cv changes when the force applied to the one end part of the housing is transmitted to the first electrode to thereby change a relationship (e.g., the distance) between the two electrodes. A pressure transmitting member having predetermined elasticity is disposed on the first electrode such that the force applied to the one end part of the housing is transmitted to the first electrode of the semiconductor element via the pressure transmitting member.

Abstract: A capacitive pressure sensing semiconductor device is provided, which has pressure resistance against pressure applied by a pressing member and can detect the pressure surely and efficiently. Abstract: A learning support system includes: an electronic pen, a writing medium position instruction tool, a position detection apparatus, and a display apparatus. The electronic pen is capable of recording handwriting and transmitting a position instruction signal. The position detection apparatus determines a position of a note provided with the writing medium position instruction tool on a position detection sensor incorporated in a desk mat based on a placement position instruction signal from the writing medium position instruction tool, converts coordinates of coordinate information corresponding to handwriting recorded on the note by the electronic pen, and displays an image corresponding to the handwriting recorded on the note on a display terminal and a teacher terminal in a mode recorded on the note. The learning support system enables an educator to determine a situation of a learner to contribute to an increase effectiveness of learning.
