摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for frequency synchronization in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system, wherein the method includes the steps of transmitting OFDM symbols in such a manner that a data symbol size of a particular OFDM symbol in each frame is set to be smaller than a data symbol size of a typical OFDM symbol within the frame, receiving the OFDM symbols and calculating respectively, correlation coefficients of the particular OFDM symbol based on both a time interval of corresponding data symbols and a time interval of data symbols of the typical OFDM symbol, taking respectively phases of corresponding correlation coefficient calculated from the particular OFDM symbol and estimating a decimal part of a frequency offset, and determining an integer part of the frequency offset corresponding to the decimal part of the frequency offset, thereby estimating an entire frequency offset and acquiring the frequency synchronization.

摘要: An apparatus and method for providing a broadcasting service in a mobile communication system. The apparatus and method can transmit broadcasting service data using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in the mobile communication system. Broadcasting service data is encoded and modulated. The modulated data is demultiplexed into data streams corresponding to a number of orthogonal frequency subcarriers. The data streams are transformed using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). The transformed data streams are multiplexed using OFDM. Information with a predetermined length placed in a last part of OFDM data is copied. The copied information is added as a cyclic prefix (CP) to a head part of the OFDM data, and OFDM symbols to be transmitted are generated. The generated OFDM symbols are multiplexed into a forward channel of the mobile communication system, and the multiplexed OFDM symbols are transmitted.

摘要: A method of providing QoS information and controlling reverse transmit power in a mobile communication system is provided. In the mobile communication system, an MS transmits to a BS, packet data on an R-PDCH for a selected one of a plurality of different services, and packet data control information about the packet data on an R-PDCCH. The packet data control information includes QoS information indicating the type of the selected service.

摘要: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for transmitting reverse data by a mobile station in a mobile communication system supporting a Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ). In the mobile station, a controller determines the maximum number of transmissions for a transmission encoder packet if there is an initial transmission subpacket for the encoder packet, and generates an information sequence representing a size of the encoder packet, a number of retransmissions, and a determined maximum number of transmissions. A transmitter encodes the information sequence and transmits the encoded information sequence together with the initial transmission subpacket in the same time period as a time period for transmitting the initial transmission subpacket.

摘要: For reverse transmission/reception of rate control bits, a receiver in a mobile station transmits a message indicating combinability of rate control bits received from several base station systems through signaling, thereby securing efficient transmission/reception of the rate control bits, and improving reliability of the rate control bits. In addition, for reverse transmission/reception of ACK/NACK bits, a receiver in a mobile station transmits a message indicating combinability of ACK/NACK bits received from several base station systems, thereby securing efficient transmission/reception of the ACK/NACK bits, and improving reliability of the ACK/NACK bits.

摘要: An apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving a PDCCH (Packet Data Control Channel) for efficient packet data transmission in a communication system supporting packet data service. To allow both TDM-transmission and TDM/CDM-transmission of packet data, the PDCCH has a different format depending on the transmission scheme of the packet data. A receiver operates in BSD (Blind Slot Detection) to detect the transmission scheme of received packet data and the format of the PDCCH.

摘要: Disclosed is an apparatus for generating an error detection information bit sequence for determining a length of data sequence transmitted in a communication system. The apparatus comprises a plurality of cascaded registers, the number of which is identical to the number of bits in the error detection information bit sequence, and a plurality of adders arranged on paths determined by a predetermined generator polynomial, each of the adders adding a bit sequence received through an input path to a feedback bit sequence. During reception of the control information sequence, an operator generates the feedback bit sequence by sequentially adding bits of the control information sequence to output bits of a final register and provides the generated feedback bit sequence to the adders. After completion of receiving the control information sequence, the operator sequentially adds a preset input bit to output bits of the final register and outputs the addition result as the error detection information bit sequence. An initial value controller provides the registers with a selected initial value separately determined for the data sequences.
