摘要： Apparatus for producing an analog signal--having a relative amplitude that is indicative of the direction and rate of rotation of a shaft--from a pair of pulse streams provided by a shaft encoder coupled to the shaft. The invention includes circuitry for comparing the phase relationship between the signals to determine direction, for generating a digital pulse of a fixed pulse-width for each pulse contained in one of the pulse streams, and integrating the time or inverted form of the digital pulse, depending upon the determined direction, to produce the analog signal.

摘要： A graphical display of a video game is provided with "first person views" of game play, by generation of simulated three-dimensional perspectives. A slave computational unit relieves a master microprocessor of arithmetic and logical operations necessary for coordinate transformations required to generate the desired video image vectors. Within the slave unit, decoded addresses from the master unit initiate access of microinstructions, from a ROM, which control a dedicated ALU which performs the transformation calculations. When the tasks are finished, the slave processor's clock is turned off by microcode from the slave's own ROM. The results of the slave's computations are retrieved by the master processor and inserted into vector instructions to drive a CRT.

摘要： A microprocessor, having a memory element containing a plurality of multi-bit instruction words, an arithmetic logic (ALU) unit coupled to the memory element and responsive to at least a portion of each of the instruction words for performing data manipulations, and a controller for generating address signals that are communicated to the memory element to cause sequential access of the instruction words, includes a storage element that interconnects certain of the signal lines that communicate the instruction words to the ALU to the controller. In response to a first predetermined instruction word the storage element receives and stores the portion of the instruction word being conducted to the ALU. In response to a second predetermined instruction word, the content of the storage element is transferred to the controller to form an address signal.

摘要： A releaseable hinge mechanism for use with a cover member, a bottom housing member having a deflectable support wall and a top housing member having a facing margin adjacent the support wall. A hinge is connected to the cover member and includes a central elongate portion terminating in a flatted distal end with a pair of flanking pivot pin portions received in a pair of cradle members located on the support wall. A compound bracket located on the facing margin has a spaced pair of relatively inflexible brace portions in facing relation with the flatted distal end and normally engaged in surface contact with the flatted end when the cover member is opened. The compound bracket includes a deflectable finger located between the pair of brace portions and arranged for surface contact with a pressure finger located on the top edge of the flatted distal end when the cover member is moved between a closed position and the opened position. The bracket further includes a spaced pair of retaining fingers extending over the distal end of the hinge to restrict upward movement of the pivot pin portions away from the cradle members until the cover member is forceably moved to an overtravel position in which the support wall is progressively deflected away from the facing margin by contact between the lower edge of the flatted surface and the brace portions until the distal end of the hinge is released from the retaining fingers.
