摘要: An aortic stent graft includes a stent with a framework attached to a fabric tube by a plurality of suture ties. The fabric tube includes a plurality of discrete attachment areas that are at least partially surrounded by at least one permeable graft area. The fabric tube is one of a weave and a knit of thermoplastic yarn. Each of the suture ties associated with the discrete attachment areas at least one of penetrates through and encircles a respective one of the discrete attachment areas. The weave or knit of the discrete attachment areas is identical to that of the permeable graft area with an exception that a wall thickness of each of the discrete attachment areas is flattened relative to, and thinner than, a wall thickness of the permeable graft area.

摘要: The present embodiments provide systems and methods for deploying at least a portion of a stent. In one embodiment, the system comprises a cannula having an outer surface, and at least one coiled member having proximal and distal ends and a plurality of turns disposed therebetween. One of the proximal and distal ends of the coiled member is secured to the outer surface of the cannula, and the other of the proximal and distal ends of the coiled member is unsecured relative to the outer surface of the cannula. A portion of a stent is looped around the unsecured end of the coiled member and disposed within spacing between adjacent turns of the coiled member. Rotation of the cannula subsequently causes the portion of the stent to disengage from the coiled member.

摘要: There are disclosed implantable medical devices and apparatus for treating implantable medical devices during production, so as to cause the implantable medical devices to have abluminal surfaces and luminal surfaces with different functional characteristics and in particular surface energies. The luminal surfaces of the medical device are preferably coated with carbon, so as to have a low surface energy, which reduces the risk of thrombi forming when implanted into a patient's vessels. The abluminal surfaces are treated so as to have a high surface energy, such that a therapeutic, preferably bioactive, material, such as a drug, can adhere to the abluminal surfaces and preferably without any need for a containment layer such as polymer or other matrix material. Once the therapeutic material has been delivered into the tissue wall, the stent can remain within the patient's vessel without leaving any delivery artefacts, as occurs with some prior art drug eluting medical devices.

The conductive coating may have a polymer backbone with conductive particles suspended in the backbone. In some embodiments, the conductive coating may be applied directly to the surface. In other embodiments, the conductive coating may be indirectly applied by first applying a primer adhesive to the outer surface, and then applying the conductive coating over the primer adhesive. An example structure may be a catheter of an endoscopic medical device, such as a bipolar sphincterotome, where the conductive coating functions as a return electrode.

摘要: The disclosure is directed to a system for maintaining hemostasis during introducing or withdrawing an interventional device. The system includes a housing. The housing includes a first end, a second end and a side wall defining a housing chamber. The system also includes a first funnel-shaped member disposed at least partially within the housing chamber. The first funnel-shaped member includes an inner portion, a middle portion and an outer portion. The inner portion of the first funnel-shaped member includes an elastic orifice, which is aligned with the through channel of the housing. The first funnel-shaped member includes an open configuration and a closed configuration. When the first funnel-shaped member is in the closed configuration, the elastic orifice is substantially closed, and when the first funnel-shaped member is in the open configuration, an interventional device is introduced through the system and the elastic orifice is open.
