To achieve variation in size, an insert is inserted into an economizer and/or unloader flow passage to provide a desired port area. The insert may be selected from a number of available insert sizes having different sized openings. In this way, a compressor designer can minimize machining time by keeping same flow passage geometry for different compressor sizes and applications.

    摘要: A scroll compressor is provided with a generally spiral wrap having an abradable or conformable coating on radially inner portions of its tip. The coating is not applied to radially outer portions. During operation of the scroll compressor, the coating will eliminate tip gap leakage adjacent radially inner, higher discharge pressure portions of the compression process. The outer, non-coated portions will bear the axial load, and ensure the coating will not wear away to an undue amount.

    摘要: A scroll compressor has lubricant flow which communicates lubricant onto a motor protector when adverse conditions are present causing the motor protector to trip the motor and stop further rotation. The lubricant is returned to an oil sump through a normal return path. The normal return path outlet may be positioned above the motor protector such that lubricant will contact the motor protector when adverse conditions are present, or the outlet may be remote from the protector. When the outlet is remote from the protector, a funnel and tubing divert the oil to the motor protector under adverse conditions. Alternatively, a passage communicating with the normal return path is selectively blocked when an adverse condition is present. At that time, lubricant is forced into an alternative oil path, which is positioned above the motor protector.

    摘要: A sensor is provided for monitoring temperatures within a discharge tube on a scroll compressor. If the temperature is too high, this is an indication of the loss of charge situation. When the temperature on the discharge tube exceeds the temperature indicative of a loss of charge, then the motor is stopped. In one embodiment, a heat fusible link melts when the temperature is exceeded and sends a signal to a control to stop the motor. A repair person must then visit the compressor and repair the compressor before it can be restarted. In this way, the system provides a very inexpensive control for eliminating operation of the compressor and its associated refrigeration system in a loss of charge situation.

    摘要: A scroll compressor has a recess communicating with a back pressure hole leading to a back pressure chamber. The recess may be formed in either the rear face of the orbiting scroll, or in the mating face of the crankcase. Preferably, the recess surrounds the orbiting axis of the orbiting scroll compressor, and may be circular. The recess serves to quickly supply fluid from the back pressure hole to the back pressure chamber. This is particularly valuable at startup of the scroll compressor. With the inventive recess, a test to determine whether the scroll compressor is capable of reaching its operative pressures may be performed more quickly and more accurately. The recess is preferably relatively shallow, and is preferably of a depth which is less than the diameter of the back pressure hole.

Each of the scroll elements has a planar surface (18, 24) extending from the wrap on the element to the peripheral edge of the element. A relief area (56) is formed in each of the scroll elements through the planar surface to move the effective pivot point of the intermediate pressure force counteracting the tangential gas force radially inwardly toward the centerline of the scroll elements. A reduction in friction forces is the result, as well as a decrease in the time necessary to work in the scroll elements.

    摘要: The present disclosure provides a compressor with an oil equalizing pipe, a parallel compressor set, and an oil equalizing method. The compressor includes at least one oil equalizing pipe, an opening at one end of the oil equalizing pipe is formed in a target oil level of an oil sump, and the opening at the other end of the oil equalizing pipe is formed in a suction port; and when the oil level of the oil sump of the compressor is higher than the target oil level, the extra oil enters the suction port through the oil equalizing pipe. Compared with the prior art, the present disclosure has the advantages that, when the compressor is running, the gas in the suction port flows, so that the pressure at the suction port is less than the pressure on the surface of the oil sump; when the oil level of the oil sump of the compressor is higher than the target oil level, the extra oil enters the suction port through the oil equalizing pipe under the action of the above pressure difference, a part of the oil enters vortex and is discharged from the compressor via the exhaust port, and the oil discharged from the compressor returns to the other compressor lack of oil through a pipeline, thereby achieving oil balance between different compressors.
