    Abstract: An electrical terminal with a contact portion and a spring arm and a method of insertion. The contact portion has a mating terminal receiving cavity. The spring arm extends from a bottom wall into the mating terminal receiving cavity. The spring arm has a fixed end, a free end and a transition section extending between the fixed end and the free end. The bottom wall has an opening with a front wall and a rear wall. The spring arm extends from the front wall toward the rear wall. A coined area is provided proximate the rear wall of the opening on the bottom wall. The spring arm acts initially as a single supported cantilever beam and then, upon deflection, acts as a double supported beam.

    Abstract: A plug connector includes a housing having a front and a rear, a first end and a second end opposite the first end, and a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The housing has a mating end at the front for mating with a mating connector. The housing has a latch pocket at the first end. The plug connector includes plug contacts held by the housing provided proximate to the mating end for mating with the mating connector. The plug connector includes a latch received in the latch pocket having a main body and a latch beam extending from the main body. The latch beam includes a dual tip latch including a first tip latch and a second tip latch both configured to be received in a same latch opening of the mating connector.

    Abstract: A communication system includes a first circuit card assembly having a first PCB including a first slot and a first electrical connector mounted to the first PCB along the first slot and having a first mating end. The communication system includes a second circuit card assembly having a second PCB and a second electrical connector mounted to the second PCB and having a second mating end. The first and second circuit card assemblies are mated along a board mating axis parallel to the first slot with the first PCB oriented perpendicular to the second PCB. The first and second mating ends are oriented parallel to the board mating axis. The second PCB is received in the first slot to align the second mating end with the first mating end.

    Abstract: An electrical cable includes a conductor assembly having a first conductor, a second conductor and an insulator surrounding the first conductor and the second conductor. The insulator has an outer surface. The conductor assembly extends along a longitudinal axis for a length of the electrical cable. The first conductor has a first core and a first conductive layer on the first core. The second conductor has a second core and a second conductive layer on the second core. The first and second cores are dielectric. The electrical cable includes a cable shield around the conductor assembly engaging the outer surface of the insulator and providing electrical shielding for the first and second conductors. The cable shield extends along the longitudinal axis.
