With the drive screw removed, the use of a key in the locking cylinder will not unlatch the device, rather, in this circumstance, key-operation of the locking cylinder will enable the external trim linkage to unlatch the device, and such key-operation (with the drive screw removed) will also disable the trim linkage operation of the device, selectively.
