    摘要: A latch assembly is provided where a latch bolt is moveable to open and close a door by unblocking pivotal movement of the latch bolt. Turning a door knob or door handle does not directly result in a corresponding retraction of the latch within a sleeve, but rather unblocks the bolt to freely pivot away from a latched position. In some embodiments, the latch assembly may include a sleeve that allows for a backset to be infinitely adjusted relative to an aperture of the sleeve. In some embodiments, the latch assembly may further include a dead latch to provide additional security against forced entry.

The locking mechanism may include a locking mechanism having a latch bar engaged by a lever bar, the lever bar in abutment against a fulcrum, the lever bar movable between a locked position in which the latch bar locks the door in the closed position by engagement with at least one abutment surface on the main body, and an unlocked position in which the latch bar is disengaged from at least one abutment surface to allow movement of the door from the closed position to the opened position. An adjusting mechanism may be operable to move the fulcrum relative to the door to vary an overlap of the latch bar with the at least one abutment surface.

The special latch bolt rotates ninety degrees by turning the doorknob, door handle, thumb turn, or coin turn and rotates back ninety degrees by turning the doorknob, door handle, thumb turn, or coin turn back. The special latch bolt has a special winged shape that catches within the strike plate when rotated ninety degrees and releases from the strike plate when rotated ninety degrees back. Also there is a special face plate or cylinder face plate with tabs or notches that serve as a two-position mechanical stop to prevent the latch bolt from over rotating beyond ninety degrees in either direction.

    摘要: A locking device has adjustable device parts, one of which comprises a locking element and another comprises a support part. A latch can be moved between a closed and an open position. A knee lever comprises a first arm pivotable about a pivot axis and a second arm, pivotable relative to the first arm about a knee joint axis. The latch is drivably connected to the knee lever so that in the closed position, the arms are pivoted into a first pivot position located near the dead center point of the knee lever and the knee lever can be positioned against a point of abutment distanced from the pivot axis. The knee lever can be moved by an actuator connectable to an electrical energy storage unit from the first pivot position across its dead center point into a second pivot position corresponding to the open position.
