Abstract:
Computer systems and non-transitory computer readable media for determining an amount of an ingredient for a preparation for a requested therapy (e.g., an order or a prescription) includes an identifier, volume, and amounts of first and second compounds in each of a plurality of premix solutions. A predefined formulary comprising a formulary concentration of each of a plurality of additions is provided. A premix solution is selected. An amount of a first additions to be added to the premix solution may be selected. A number of bags of the premix solution, needed to satisfy a volume associated with the selected premix solution, are optionally reserved. An additive volume is determined at least by the specified first amounts of the first addition and a corresponding formulary concentration.
Abstract:
A stirring device according to an aspect is provided with a holder which holds a specimen container accommodating a specimen in an upright position and a rotation mechanism section configured to rotate the specimen container, thereby stirring the specimen therein.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present disclosure provides a method for analytics-based design and planning of creative menus. A method for designing and planning a menu, wherein the menu comprises at least one dish comprising a set of ingredients prepared according to a recipe includes obtaining a user-specified ingredient that must be included in the menu, obtaining a user-specified criterion that must be satisfied by the menu, automatically formulating an optimization problem that evaluates a plurality of potential dishes for inclusion in the menu by optimizing over the user-specified criterion, and automatically selecting the at least one dish from among the plurality of potential dishes, wherein the automatically selecting is performed based at least in part on a solution to the optimization problem, and wherein the at least one dish includes the user-specified ingredient.
Abstract:
The present invention is preferably directed to a dispenser of the type sold by 3M ESPE under the trade name Pentamix and as also described above. Such a dispenser preferably comprises at least a first and a second compartment for a first reservoir and a second reservoir, respectively, the first and the second reservoirs containing a first and a second component for the dental material, respectively. It further preferably comprises a first and a second plunger driven by a first drive for advancing the first and the second components from the first and the second reservoirs, respectively. Moreover, a dynamic mixer driven by a second drive for automatically mixing the first and second components to form the dental material from the first and second components is provided. Such a dispenser further preferably has a dispensing portion or mixing tip for dispensing the mixed dental material. The present invention is more particularly directed to a dispenser or method adapted for advancing and mixing at least one dental material, comprising at least one drive which is operated on a predetermined, non-uniform drive speed profile. Preferably an advancing speed profile is provided for advancing the components and/or a mixing speed profile is provided for mixing the components, and either profile may be a “drive speed profile” as that term is used herein. More preferably both profiles are provided.

Abstract:
A sample processing apparatus comprising a controller; an agitating section configured to agitate a sample in a sample tube; and a processing section configured to process the agitated sample, wherein the controller is configured to control the agitating section to agitate a sample in a first type of sample tube under a first agitation condition, and to control the agitating section to agitate a sample in a second type of sample tube, which contains a sample of lower volume than the first type of sample tube, under a second agitation condition different from the first agitation condition.
Abstract:
An automatic dye-meter (1) is described, composed of at least one first compartment (3) for stocking and storing a plurality of bottles (5) containing the dyeing components, each one of such bottles (5) being equipped with at least one plug equipped with pumping means for such component, such bottles (5) being arranged inside such first compartment (3) according to a known order, at least one second compartment (7) for batching such components from such bottles (5) to obtain a final dyeing compound inside at least one mixing container (9) arranged inside such second compartment (7), handling means (11) adapted to take at least one of such bottles (5) from such first compartment (3), transport such bottle (5) from such first compartment (3) to such second compartment (7), incline such bottle (5), actuate such pumping means to allow pouring and batching such component inside such mixing container (9), and take back such bottle (5) inside such first compartment (3).
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and apparatus for the creation and dispensing of a custom formulation within a package at a retail point of sale. In one aspect, the invention includes an automated dispensing apparatus including at least a two-axis robot arm. In another aspect, the invention includes an automated mixer adapted to mix the dispensed custom formulation within the package.
Abstract:
A blending system is described for preparing a blended mixture. The blending system includes a control system having at least a processor, a computer-readable memory, and a display, wherein the memory contains software configured to receive a formula defining instructions for preparing a blended mixture using one or more blending materials and amounts recommended for the blended mixture using a scale. The blending system further includes management software stored in the computer-readable memory and executed by the control system, the software in communication with the control system to exchange information on customers and formulas blended mixtures associated with the customers. Additionally, the control system includes software configured to calculate information associated with the blended mixture when an input received by the control system indicates an amount that is different than an amount in the formula and displays the calculated information associated with the blended mixture on the display.
Abstract:
The present disclosure describes, among other things, a method. The method may include determining a type of epoxy to be mixed from a first material in a first barrel of the dual-barrel cartridge and a second material in a second barrel of the dual-barrel cartridge. The method may include determining a first rate at which to advance a first plunger against the first barrel based at least in part on the type of epoxy to be mixed. The method may include determining a second rate at which to advance a second plunger against the second barrel based at least in part on the type of epoxy to be mixed. The first rate and the second rate may be associated with a proportion between an amount of the first material and an amount of the second material to mix for the epoxy.
