A compression molding machine includes a support mounted for rotation around an axis and a plurality of angularly spaced molds disposed around the support. Each of the molds includes a first mold segment and a second mold segment. At least one of the mold segments is movable with respect to the other mold segment between a closed position for compression molding a plastic article, and an open position for removing a molded article from the mold and placing a mold charge into the mold. An apparatus is provided for placing mold charges into the molds in sequence.

A machine manufactures containers such as bottles, pots, or other hollow bodies by thermal conditioning and blow molding of plastic preforms. The machine has two portfolio molds on the periphery of a carousel, and each has at least two molding cavities. The machine also has a device for steering and for holding the preforms on a path between thermal conditioners. The preforms are separated at a pitch that is less than that of the molding cavities. The machine features a device for changing the pitch of the preforms between the steering device and the mold.

Apparatus for the automatic production of brake shoes and linings comprising an intermittently rotatable table that carries a plurality of hot presses. Brake lining compound is masticated, preheated, comminuted and fed to a pelletizing press, a pellet being fed from the pelletizing press to each hot press on the table during a dwell in the rotary indexing movement of the table. A backing plate for the lining is also fed to each press beneath the pellet. Each hot press is so constructed to apply first a relatively low closing pressure and then a relatively high operating pressure. A vertically movable mold above a heating plate encompasses the die held by a vertically movable die holding plate; but the relative vertical movement is limited so that the die cannot escape the mold during operation.

Apparatus for feeding molten resin includes a holding unit that moves on a track and at least a pair of holders capable of holding and releasing the molten resin accompanying the opening and closing of the holding unit. A base portion is utilized for supporting the holders so as to be opened and closed and for holding the molten resin together with the holders. The molten resin discharged from an extrusion-forming machine and cut by a cutter is held by the holding unit, and it fed from the holding unit to a female mold of a compression-0molding machine. At the time of cutting the molten resin, a cutter mark is formed by the cutter on a cut surface of the molten resin.
