    摘要: A mold assembly for blow molding comprises mating mold components having opposed mating surfaces and each comprising an insert defining the exterior of a neck portion of the article to be molded and at least one heat pipe located with one end thereof proximate a molding surface and the other end thereof in the interior of a heat transfer fluid conducting passage within the mold component. Advantageously, each mold component includes sealing means effective to prevent passage of fluid from the mold component around heat pipes passing through walls thereof. Advantageously, each insert includes at least one knife insert for forming a parting groove for separating waste of the article as molded from the neck portion comprising a finished article. A blow molding machine comprises a mold assembly in accordance with the invention. Advantageously the molding machine comprises trimming means for parting the molded article at the parting grooves.

    摘要: A mold for blow molding has a base component for forming at least one portion of a concave base of a container and comprising a mounting plate having connections for supply and return of a heat transfer fluid, a body having a molding surface thereon and having a substantially cylindrical recess having a roof spaced from the molding surface, a substantially cylindrical insert comprising a diverting surface, an inlet passage therethrough and open to the diverting surface and an outlet passage therethrough, the diverting surface spaced from the roof and side of the recess so as to define a cavity and a drain therefrom open to the outlet passage. In a method of blow molding turbulent flow is induced in heat transfer fluid conducted through the base component from impact with the roof and the turbulent flow is dispersed within the cavity over the diverting surface whereby heat transfer from the molding surface is enhanced.

A link rod device with three degrees of freedom in rotation is provided between one half-mold such that upon opening the two half-molds are spaced apart from each other without moving the base, then so that the base moves axially while the two half-molds continue to be mutually and completely spaced apart, and vice-versa.

    摘要: A method for producing a container from a tubular blank of polyethylene terephthalate or similar material, according to which a polyethylene terephthalate blank is stretched at least approximately 3-fold to produce a preform (20). In an axial section through the preform, the contour length substantially corresponds to the contour length in an axial section through the final container. The preform (20) is heated to a temperature above the glass transition temperature (TG) and is converted to the container (21) in a blow mold (12). In doing so, the contour length of the material is maintained through successive reduction of the axial length of the body (23) which the preform constitutes during the conversion to the container. In order to achieve this, the base portion of the blow mold (11) is moved towards the orifice (22) of the final container. The container acquires a neck portion (23) and a container body (26) which are axially oriented, in the case of polyethylene terephthalate to an extent corresponding to about a 3-fold monoaxial stretching, while the container body (26) is also transversely oriented, in the case of polyethylene terephthalate to an extent corresponding to about a 3-fold stretching as a maximum. The wall thickness of the container is inversely proportional to the radius of the container. The container is dimensionally very stable and has excellent strength characteristics.
