    Abstract: An injection-moulding mould configured for being mounted in an injection-moulding apparatus for automated moulding of work pieces in plastics, said injection-moulding mould comprising at least two separate mould parts that are separated by a mould separation face, and wherein at least one first mould part (1) is configured with an outer frame (2) in which is configured at least one space (14) which is open relative to the mould separation face, in which is mounted at least one exchangeable mould insert (3), and wherein the exchangeable mould insert (3) has a support plate (16) and the mould insert has a recess (20) into which the support plate (16) extends to the effect that the support plate (16) secures the mould insert (3) in the open space (14).

    Abstract: Top and bottom ferrous carrier plates have a plurality of pairs of mating insert receptacles in full carrier plates and interlocked partial carrier plates. Pairs of mating nonferrous pre-molded inserts with mating mold cavities insert with a three axis floating fit into mating insert receptacles. Insert contact faces each comprising a flat surface portion having a plurality of mating alignment elements adapted for automatic precision alignment of the mating pair of pre-molded inserts. An injector structure comprising a plunger and pot bushing structure communicates with a pot on each top pre-molded insert. The bushing structure has a solidifying cavity and stripping structure so that retraction of the plunger separates the solidified material from the plunger face for automatic removal of surplus injected material after each molding cycle.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a composite element. A stack of plies is assembled on a lay-up table, each ply comprising a plurality of reinforcement elements such as dry-fibers. A first part of the stack of plies is bound to form a partially bound stack of plies, a second part of the stack of plies remaining unbound. The partially bound stack of plies is press-formed in a mold cavity between a pair of mold tools to form a shaped pre-form, plies in the second part of the stack sliding against each other during the press-forming. A liquid matrix material is injected into the shaped pre-form in the mold cavity and subsequently cured.
