摘要： A curb box cover assembly includes a covering member having a plurality of first openings for the passage of street water. Also, second opening(s) are provided on the covering member which cooperate with a clamping device to secure the covering member to the catch basin. The clamping device includes one clamp member which includes a first and second contact member connected by a transition member of prescribed thickness. The clamp member rotationally mounts on a pivot member. The pivot member includes a threaded opening to receive a bolt member which is advanced into the threaded opening by an operator's action. The pivot member rotates in response to the operator's action so that the clamp member rotates from a first position to a second position at which the clamp member secures the covering member to the catch basin opening. The contact members can rotate independently of each other to accommodate irregularities in the interior surface of the catch basin.

摘要： Synthetic kerbstones and method for use in the construction of roads, pathways and footpaths. The synthetic kerbstones described herein can support the edges of a road surface in the same manner as conventional kerbstones so as to allow the construction and use of the road during, for example, nearby building works. The synthetic kerbs can be driven over without the possibility of damage to the appearance of the final road. At the end of these building works, the temporary synthetic kerbs are removed and replaced with conventional kerbstones (typically made of concrete or stone). In use, the synthetic kerbstones described herein are preferably reusable. Alternatively, the kerbstones may be left in place and advantage taken of their resistance to damage on being mounted by vehicles. In this way, the holes or channels 2, 4 running longitudinally through the kerb can be used to provide services such as gas, water, electricity, communications and/or drainage.

Each construction block is formed as a pre-cast module, preferably of concrete, within which there is a conduit said conduit being formed from an optional elongated imperforate pipe length with at least one double ended female pipe coupling, and if said pipe is present, double ended female couplings are present at the opposite ends thereof. The conduit may extend in one or more directions through the block and terminates flush with the outer walls thereof.Connection of adjacent blocks one to another to form an assemblage is carried out by connector means comprising the interposition and adhesion of male nipples within adjacent female couplings. A concrete caulk sealant may be applied between any two spaced blocks to retard growth of grass and weeds.

摘要： A surface drainage system comprising base members (27) and cover members (32). The base members have a channel formed between opposite walls thereof, and are designed to be laid end-to-end with the channels in longitudinal alignment. The cover members are of inverted channel section and have opposite side walls with a channel defined therebetween. The cover members are laid above the base members and combine therewith to form an enclosed drainage channel. Each cover member has at least one opening (37) extending through a side wall thereof and communicating with the channel. The lowermost part of the opening intersects the outer surface of the respective wall at a location (36) that is no closer to the bottom than to the top of the cover member. A carriageway (35) can be laid with its surface no lower than the point (36), so that drainage is effected through the opening (37) while the base members (27) lie at a significant depth below the carriageway surface.

摘要： A barrier section for separating the center of a two-way roadway is disclosed herein including a thickened foot portion embedded in the ground with an integrally formed upstanding rail portion rising vertically above the surface of the ground. The foot portion is provided with an open-ended conduit or duct and passageways are provided at an angle leading from the ground surface to the duct in a downwardly converging arrangement. Both barrier portions include steel rod reinforcement extending longitudinally and transversely with respect to the duct. Interlocking devices are carried on opposite ends of the barrier for mating with and interconnecting with additional adjacent barrier sections.
