Abstract: A system for illuminating a carriageway in a case of fog includes a road safety barrier arranged along the carriageway, at least one fog density detecting device arranged along the road safety barrier, and a plurality of light sources borne by the road safety barrier, distributed along the road safety barrier, and oriented for each to emit a light beam having a direction that is transversal to an extension axis of the road safety barrier so as to illuminate signage on the carriageway. A control unit that is connected to the light sources and to the fog density detecting device is configured to activate the light sources when the fog density detecting device detects a fog density value of above a threshold value.

Abstract: A barrier transition framework such as for use as a bridge transition, is disclosed for connection to a concrete anchor at an entrance, comprising a tubular upper transition chord having first and second beveled ends, and a tubular lower transition chord having first and second beveled ends. The first beveled ends of each of the upper and lower chords are welded to an approach deflector. The second beveled ends of each of the upper and lower chords are welded to an anchorage plate. A transition assembly is formed by connecting thrie-beams to the road-side of the transition framework. A thrie-beam may also be connected to the field-side of the transition framework. The disclosed transition framework provides a preassembled solid four bar structure with exceptional resistance to deflection in both the vertical and horizontal planes, that spans a greater distance than convention transitions.

Abstract: A module suitable for use in a crash barrier has a diaphragm with opposite first and second sides. First and second cellular foam blocks are coupled to the first and second sides of the diaphragm respectively. A wrap layer surrounds a periphery of the first and second cellular foam blocks. A sealant layer may be applied to the wrap layer. In one embodiment, the wrap layer is configured as a metal cover member. A crash barrier may be configured with one or more modules. A method of manufacturing a module includes adhering first and second cellular foam blocks to opposite sides of a diaphragm and wrapping a wrap layer around a periphery of the first and second cellular foam blocks. A transition rail may be connected between first and second crash barriers.
