摘要: A method of forming a cast-in-situ pile with an enlarged head, wherein a collar (1,13) is releasably affixed to the lower end of a piling tool (10) and the piling tool (10) and the collar (1,13) are driven to a first depth and the collar (1,13) is released from the piling tool (10). The piling tool (10) is then driven to a second depth, the piling tool (10) passing freely through a central aperture (2,14) of the collar (1,13), which remains at the first depth. The piling tool (10) is then withdrawn, and concrete or grout (20) is supplied to the lower end of the piling tool so as to form a cast-in-situ pile (22). When the lower end of the piling tool (10) again reaches the first depth, the collar (1,13) is lifted from the ground and concrete or grout (20) is supplied into the void left thereby so as to form a pile (22) with an enlarged head (23).

摘要: A drilled, cast-in-place shell pile in the form of a cementacious pipe surrounding an earthen core. The pile is cast in an annular kerf drilled in the soil with a rotating hollow cylindrical core barrel. The earthen core within the annular kerf remains in place to form the core of the shell pile and act as a form. The cylindrical shell of the pile transfers load from above to the soil mass below through skin friction, and may be reinforced against tension loads by a plurality of reinforcing bars. The earthen core has end bearing capabilities to assist in transferring loads from above. Soil excavated from the annular kerf may be mixed with cement to form a cementitious soil/cement mixture to be pumped into the annular kerf to form the cylindrical shell. This cementitious mixture, while in a fluid state, is pumped into the excavation as the core barrel is removed. A mixing/circulating unit is provided for on-site mixing of dry cement with the cuttings and other materials to form the cylindrical shell. The shell pile may be used in soil solidification or soil improvement applications, or a plurality of such shell piles may be constructed as secant wall shell piles to form a cementitious barrier against lateral migration of moisture, soil contaminants, or other substances.

摘要: An apparatus for forming an in-ground concrete piling includes an elongate hollow mandrel which can be driven into the ground with a pile driver. A cupped foot, having a larger cross-sectional area than the mandrel, is placed beneath the mandrel before it is driven into the ground, and openings located near the bottom of the mandrel permit grout placed in the mandrel to flow into the space between the mandrel and the foot. A hollow sheath which slidably fits over the foot is attached to the bottom of an annular collar which slidably fits over the mandrel, forming a seal to prevent escape of grout from the openings while the mandrel is being filled. In use the mandrel is filled with grout before it is driven into the ground. Thereafter, during driving, the grout flows out of the openings in the bottom of the mandrel into the space around the mandrel, which is created by the foot. The column of grout in the mandrel acts as a static pressure head which forces the grout out of the mandrel into the surrounding space with a high volumetric flow rate as fast as the space is created.

摘要: Apparatus for forming a stone column in the ground is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a pair of concentric tubes (2,3) the inner one (2) of which is open at both ends, and at or near its lower end may be connected to the outer tube (3) by an outwardly extending wall portion (4). A driving plate (14) is attached at or close to the upper end of one of said inner and outer tubes, so as to extend around said one tube, so that the apparatus may be driven into or against the ground. In a preferred embodiment, the lower portion of the inner tube (2), the outwardly extending wall portion (4) and the lower portion of the outer tube (3) together define a cavity comprising an upper, relatively narrow portion (7) and a lower, relatively wide portion (9). A method of forming a stone column using the apparatus is also disclosed. After driving the apparatus into the ground, it is withdrawn in stages, after each of which a compacting force is applied in order to consolidate the stone column. By accentuating these compaction forces or their duration, it is possible to produce localized bulges along the stone column.In a modification, the method of the invention is used to form cast-in-place piles without the use of a pile shoe.

摘要: An apparatus for producing a concrete pile in the ground with an enlarged base, including a tube having a diameter, and an upper and a lower end, a shoe provided at the lower end of the tube and having a larger diameter than the tube so as to form a gap between the tube and the ground, a longitudinal outer casing having a diameter substantially equal to the shoe diameter so as to define a space between the tube and the outer casing, the casing also having a lower end attached to the shoe, and an open upper end so as to allow a free flow of concrete into the space between the tube and the outer casing, a sliding joint provided so as to slidably attach the outer casing to the tube so that a predetermined length of sliding exists between the tube and the outer casing, a pile having a free-falling hammer, the tube, with the outer casing attached, being drivable into the ground by the pile to a depth greater than the length of the outer casing so as to form an opening in the ground and define the gap between the tube and the ground, means for supplying concrete to the gap and the space so that the gap and the space are filled with concrete as the tube with the attached outer casing is driven into the ground, means for expelling the shoe from the lower end of the tube and the outer casing, along with some of the concrete, so as to form the enlarged base, and a traction cable attached to the upper end of the tube so that the tube is raiseable from the shoe after the enlarged base is formed so as to cause the tube to slide upwardly with respect to the outer casing, thereby allowing concrete from the space to enter the volume of space previously occupied by the lower end of the tube, the tube being raised to a point where both the tube and the outer casing are removed from the ground so that the concrete from the gap and the space fills the resulting opening.

摘要: A geothermal system and method of installing the same comprises the steps successively driving a drive pipe structure vertically into the ground at a plurality of locations so that a major portion of the length of the drive pipe structure is located below the frost line. An elongate geothermal pipe having closed ends is inserted into the drive pipe structure and its lower end is interlocked with a drive point device located at the lower end of the drive pipe structure. Thereafter, when the drive pipe is removed, the geothermal pipe remains anchored to the drive point. The geothermal pipes are connected together by conduits and connected to a heat pump so that a heat exchange liquid will be circulated through the system.

摘要: According to the invention, a casing pipe is set on the ground and filled with a fluid, whereupon electric pulses are passed through the fluid to produce a series of electric discharges. The casing pipe is driven into the ground due to the resultant electrohydraulic effect. While the casing pipe is being pulled from the ground, it is filled with concrete mix which is compacted by passing electric pulses therethrough to produce electric discharges. The installation for effecting this method comprises a pile puller, a pile driver and a concrete feeder, all connected to the casing pipe. The pile driver incorporates a fluid feed system communicating with the casing pipe, and a pulse device with electrodes installed at the lower portion of the casing pipe, which is intended to produce electric discharges in the fluid fed into the casing pipe by the fluid feed system.
