    摘要: A handle mechanism includes a gear drive having an interior end and an exterior end; an inside handle fixed to the interior end; a button; a finger; a handle drive; an outside handle; and a spring. The button has an interior end and an exterior end, which is positioned within the exterior end of the gear drive. The handle drive is positioned within the exterior end of the gear drive and is rotatable relative thereto. The outside handle and the handle drive rotate together. The outside handle moves between a first position, wherein it is constrained from rotation, and a second position. The finger is fixed to the exterior end of the button, which moves between a first position, wherein the finger causes the gear drive and the handle drive to rotate together, and a second position. The spring biases the button and the outside handle toward their first positions.

    摘要: An apparatus secures a cover onto a housing of a portable electronic device. The apparatus has a first latch that is pivotally connected to the cover by a first hinge, so that in a first rotational position, the first latch contacts a first catch on the housing and in a second rotational position, the first latch is remote from the first catch. A second latch assembly has a second latch that is pivotally connected to the cover by a second hinge, so that in one rotational position, the second latch contacts a second catch on the housing and in another rotational position, the second latch is remote from the second catch. By squeezing the first and second latches between two fingers, a user is able to disengage those latches from the catches and remove the cover from the housing.

    摘要: A latch having a housing, handle, actuators, pawl and rotary pawl torsion spring and two actuator torsion springs. The rotary pawl torsion spring biases the pawl toward the unlatched or opened position. The handle is pivotally attached to the housing and has two paddles that engage the actuator. The actuator is slidably supported by the housing. Lifting the handle to the open position causes rotating movement of the actuator which in turn causes the pawl to rotate to the unlatched or retracted position.

    摘要: A pocket-type computer encompassed by a two-part casing has the entire latch mechanism contained in sidewalls of upper and lower hinged casings. The sidewalls have a thickness of only about two millimeters. A latch plate is integrally molded in a sidewall interior recess or formed as a molded part and fixedly adhered in the recess. One end of an elongated latch is fixed in an interior recess in the upper casing sidewall and depends therefrom so that a centilevered end having locking tooth slides on an inclined surface on the latch plate as the casings are closed until the latch tooth springs into a recess and keeper in the latch plate. An integral push button extends outwardly from the latch at a medial position into a matching aperture in the upper casing sidewall. The push button is accessed from the casing exterior and when pushed inwardly, the latch is pivoted inwardly releasing the latch tooth from the latch keeper to allow opening of the two casings. After opening, a user can then operate the computer, more particularly a keyboard in the lower casing and view a display screen provided in the interior of the upper casing.
